I am 71 years old, been diagnosed 5 1/2 years Started out on Azilect and Requip. Never really felt great on this but my neurologist wanted to keep me on the least amount of medication for as long as possible. In Jan 2013 I felt terrible so he put me on Carbidopa Levadopa 25/100 three times a day I did

Prostate Cancer & Hormones - Prolactin
Evolution has given hormones promiscuous roles in the body. A particular hormone may be involved in a number of unrelated functions. Prolactin, as one might guess, is a hormone mostly associated with milk production, but it has various roles in the male body too. In addition, the prostate has prolactin

Cognitive Decline - any suggestions?
But last year, he was diagnosed, and has been given
Carbidopa
/
Levodopa
but it's not really addressing the major issue of, sometimes total, inability to focus and remember. He has a disabled son, so this is a grave situation. I help every way I can, but it's so distressing!

Taper off Sinement prior to DaTsacan?
Has anyone heard of tapering off Sinemet (
Carbidopa
/
Levodopa
) prior to taking a DaTscan? I can’t find anything in the documentation that says this is necessary however I have conflicting information from 2 Neurologists one saying I need too the other that says it is not necessary.

Quercetin/Bromelain peak tissue absorption time
I'm using q/b to accompany natural sourced and standardized levodopa. First day, today. It went better than I expected it to go. I've read a quercetin research study summary and found in there that a mean peak tissue absorption of it in their subjects was 5-6 hours. I am using a blend of both quercetin

copper? ? L-DOPA
I wrote on this forum about two months ago about wearing copper bracelets - one on each arm. I have had no RLS since I have done this and I do not know how to explain it. My daughter who is a pro in natural health medicine bought me a product which she was sure would help me. I have not tried it as

Seeking Comments From those combining Mucuna Pruriens (MC) with their Sinemet (C/L)
When combining MC w/C/L how does that seem to work best for you? I believe there must be a better way than I have done so far. I have taken them at the same time and independently and one awhile before the other in both directions. I've taken MP with water, juice, hot pineapple juice as a hot beverage

Spoilt for Choice?
It seems there are neurologist prescribed meds such as levodopa, azilect and agonists. Then there are supplements, natural remedies: Mucuna – a dopamine supplement Anti-oxidants – teas, berries, etc Nicotine – supposed to be neuro-protective. Magnesium – alleviates stiffness B vitamins, especially

Cello playing
It was a passing interest. I learned the Bach prelude. I'm retired, 65. I've had this pd for years I think. I can't attack properly. It gives me a sick feeling across my chest when I try to bow convincingly. diagnosed in June because of my posture. it's frightening me. I don't think Ropinarol 8mg does
