I’m taking two carbidopa levodopa at 25/100 and the tremors are much much worse and stiffness is worse as well. I can’t take any more than two a day because my gut will not take it and the pain in my stomach becomes much much worse as well.

One of the generic carbidopa-levodopa brands has a filler in it that is very sensitive to moisture and light. The tablets are not enteric coated and the tablets do not have a shine like most tablets. They are manufactured and then shipped in the white aluminum sealed pill bottles.

His doctor took him off the neupro and raised his carbidopa levodopa weekly to 2000 mg/day. He had no withdraws and did very well. Not sure if this will help but his hallucinations disappeared.

I know this might be a little bit of TMI for some of you, but I have to know if anyone of you out there has ever experienced severe anal/rectal pain from using carbidopa levodopa? Especially from the time you take it until the time it seems to start to work?

Has anyone found that zandopa causes insomnia, more so than prescription carbidopa levodopa or other forms of Mucuna?I have only tried zandopa a few times, but it seems that both times I had some wicked insomnia.

I am on muscle relaxants and tramadol for pain and carbidopa/levodopa for Pakinson like symptoms, none of which helped 2 nights ago and I ended up falling hitting my back and the back of my head. Last night I had severe spasms and went to ER.

I am taking carbidopa/levodopa for three years now. I have read ”Parkinson’s and the B1 therapy“ on Amazon and am evaluating my next steps. At my last visit to the Neurologist, she mentioned something that could put the cabidopa/levodopa “on high octane”.

Prescribed him carbidopa levodopa. He lost what little energy he had and suffered from dizzy spells. Stopped that drug, contacted doc and his reply was I'll send a different drug but the side effects will probably be worse.

My Parkinson’s was under control with carbidopa/levodopa 50-200, and pramipexole 1.5mg. But the anxiety and stress over my husband negated the medication. So my neurologist put me on Apokyn. I found it worked first thing in the morning but that was it.

Good morning all, can anyone talk at length or is there somewhere on the site that I can find the side effects of carbidopa levodopa? My doctor wants me to stop taking it because quite frankly, all it does is make my symptoms much much worse. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

The article linked below describes a PwP who had his medication switched from brand name (Sinemet) to generic carbidopa/levodopa (C/L) and how this exacerbated what had previously been well-controlled Parkinson's symptoms.

And from the neurologist are taking carbidopa/levodopa after a cascade of symptoms came on fast after anesthesia/pneumonia/Covid last year, which led to the PD diagnosis. Luckily the C/L helps and his energy has come back significantly (mainly due to B1 therapy??)
