My doctor replied to me in regards to my questions about supplementing Carbidopa with Dopa Macuna. I’m taking 25/100 of Carbidopa twice daily and wanted her opinion as to the dosage of Dopa Macuna to take, to replace one of the two Carbidopa. In other words I would take one Carbidopa in the morning and the other Carbidopa would be replaced with one Dopa Macuna. I hope this helps someone in need of this information. Her reply is below:
I tried to find the equivalent dose of macuna for the carbidopa-levodopa and there are just small studies about the that. Roughly one needs 2.5-3 times of macuna L-dopa to get the same benefit of the carbidopa-levodopa. So, 2 capsules of your formulation is about one tablet of carbidopa-levodopa. But again, as there is limited comparison studies.

It depends on what percent of the M P is l-dopa. Also, there is a problem caused by the variations in quality and purity between products. There are tons of posts here about MP, so if you put it in the search window, you'll find a potpourri of information.
