FODMAP diet and lactose and gluten intolerances
I have been praising the benefits of the FODMAP diet but I have been overlooking a part of my history. I started on the diet path by choosing gluten free foods and this became a habit. When I started on the FODMAP diet I found a big improvement but I continued on the gluten free diet as well, just

Help with blood test results
There's more in my Profile, but in a nutshell I was diagnosed underactive (hypo) in 2009 and have been on levothyroxine ever since. Things were fine until late-2015, then I started to experience the symptoms again with a vengeance. Extreme tiredness, inexplicable weigh gain, fuzzy head, worsening memory

Update on pacemaker install
I had been waiting for surgery for a pacemaker. I've jumped the queue! Last Thursday I collapsed in the bathroom. The implanted monitor showed a pause of almost 9 seconds when reviewed by the Cardiology team. I was brought into the RUH Bath & told I would be staying until the pacemaker is done. The doctor

What RA?
I’ve had RA since I was 27, so 5 years now. There have been many ups and downs with being diagnosed, finding appropriate treatment, changing my lifestyle to a healthier one, etc. I think I finally am on a medication regimen that works! I spent the last year of my life on prednisone. I’m finally off

Keto diet experience
Hi everyone, I thought I'd post my experience with the keto diet. Firstly, I am a 65 year old woman. I've been hypo for over 20 years. I am prescribed 100mg levo and 60mg liothyronine daily for the past ten years. I have been a vegetarian for over 40 years. When first prescribed lio, my weight stabilized

Keto Diet Success?
Hey all, my naturopath has put me on a new diet called the Keto diet - high fat and low carb. There are a ton of benefits to it, weight loss is one but better egg health is another and there are cases on significant increase in egg quality (although I think this is all unverified info) [u][i]Anyway,

Son going for a colonoscopy
Hi there, Many people have volunteered their advice before and it was a fantastic help so I'm back again to ask again. Hi , my annual blood test gave yet again a border line low thyroid reading which my GP yet again dismissed as not needing treatment. When I mentioned this was now the 9th low reading, to my knowledge, they sat up and took notice. They haven't linked my gluten intolerance, and did a coeliac test which

digestive issues
I thought I'd update everyone on my ongoing digestive problems. I've had a very positive result following a breath test (hydrogen 270!) which has confirmed small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) which I had suspected for some time. Healthy Low Carb ideas needed please
I'm diabetic and I'm looking for some ideas for healthy low carb family meals that all the family will enjoy. There are quite a few food allergies in the family with the main ones being dairy (all types not just lactose intolerant), wheat (not just gluten), beef and some fruits, plus margarine, lamb
