Hypothyroidism for 16 years and no change. What should I be asking my doctors.
I have suffered from hypothyroidism since 2002 and never been told by my doctors any figures regarding tests only that my levothyrixine should be put up. It has never helped. What should I be asking my doctor. They leave me in the dark and ignore my symptoms. I have epilepsy, depression, auditory hallucinations

Update
Hi all, After some false starts and horrible issues like panic attacks and tachycardia things have settled a bit. The panic has subsided but I have been told I have PACS which might or might not have been exacerbated by the Eutirox. I have been on 75/100 on alternating days since mid December and today

My Hashimoto’s Story
I thought I would share my story in the hope it may help other people suffering with hashimoto’s. At the age of 43 and a year of suffering chronic UTI’s, stomach pain and digestive issues I was diagnosed with Coeliac disease, lymphocytic colitis Dec 2015 and commenced a gluten free diet which helped

Hospital Blues
I came into hospital on Wednesday to have my chylothorax drained on the right side of my chest. They have drained off about 1.1 litre and I have had to be on a low fat diet whilst I am in to try and help dry it out. It’s not a very inspiring menu choice. Only 4 items and I have all of them now. Just

LCHF journey
Hi, I am just starting on my LCHF journey and here is what I ate for dinner last night - chicken and aubergine curry made with tomatoes and coconut milk and cauliflower rice. It was great. Not enough for hubby so he had a large nan with his. We both really enjoyed it. It's one for my LCHF recipe book

Hashimotos & gluten free newbie!
I have been following an extremely strict gluten free diet for just under four weeks now. My mood has improved hugely, I feel more alert, and generally more human! So far I haven't lost any weight- but still really happy with progress. ANYWAY! I was tested for celiac last November and it came back negative

Finished with all surgeries, finally!!!
I was diagnosed with stage 2 infiltrating ductile carcinoma in September 2012 just a few weeks before my wedding. I was encouraged to go ahead with the wedding and the honey moon, so we shared vows on 10/15/2012 and I had my first lumpectomy on 10/25/11. I was advised to take an aggressive approach

Stephen Silva, a story of a hopeful future. He refused to go silently into that dark night. An example for younger patients especially.
I was diagnosed with stage 4 alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver in May 2016 at age 32. At the time I was deep in alcoholism and weighed over 300 pounds. I had basically every symptom that comes along with cirrhosis; jaundice, ascites filled my belly, swollen legs, tender belly, brown urine, rarely urinating

How can you eat correctly when you don't know how digestion works? Everything goes through the liver, right? Suppose it isn't that simple.
There are "experts" who argue for all of the many types of diet. The low carb vs high carb or low fat vs high fat supporters all argue for their views. How can you possibly make any sense of it? It is complex but knowing a few fundamental things can help. You probably know that the brain burns glucose
