Why do you think you should go for a low carb diet? You need carbs to convert, so don't go too low.

What a relief to see a reply like that...! I often get the impression low carb diets are touted as the miracle solution to all health problems...I've tried them and never felt well on them, so I agree with you we need some carbs in our diet. Of course, there are good carbs and bad carbs, but that does not change the fact that we need carbs.

Could you please explain how much carbs are essential for my body

and how much protien

and finally fat.

because i am always using antibiotics. always getting infections. my immune system is very weak.

I got thyroid in 2014 at the age of 28years. i am female. I am indian.

before thyroid, i suffered with Tuberculosis in 2012 and on antibiotics for 1 year. i found it really late. i got spine TB and near sternocostal area also. During medication i got thyroid. During TB, i took high protein diet and Antibiotics in india. at that time i got thyroid.

From 2017 june onwards i am using antibiotics for my ear infection. i am suffering frequently with ear infections. in 2015 also i used antibiotics for the same reason for 1 week. but in 2017 i used continuous antibiotics to cure my ear infection, during that time i suffered alot with hypothyroid symptoms. now my ears are infection free.

I am on my correct weight. but i am always feeling my health bad, with low immunity.

I never took fats . i never dont know fats are essential to my body. after knowing about keto diet i used fats.

but my problem is , i started keto diet from 25th feb 2018. but now i am suffering hypothyroidism symptoms from past 4days. am i not giving enough carbohydrates?

i am giving daily 1 carrot, 1onion, 1 tomato, 1 tablespoon of sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, flaxseeds respectively. i am taking lot of greens. i am taking potassium rich veggies. i am taking 10 almonds, pistachios, walnuts respectively. 3 lemons, 3.5litres water. daily taking 50 grams of indian cottage cheese which is panner. for 1 week i gave 30grams of coconut oil, another week 40 to 50 and now 3rd week 60 to 70 grams of coconut oil. i want to continue this for another 2 weeks and gradually decrease my fat intake by 10 grams every week.

Benefits during keto diet i observed are:

My knee pains are gone.

before keto diet, when ever i took vit d, i used to get sick and i always stopped it. i never continued my course.

i am on conceving plans. so i used to take Pregnacare preconception multivitamin tablets, when ever i use them, i used to get more pains on medication. so i stopped them.

after started keto diet, i am confidently taking my multivitamin tablet.

i am happy with my keto diet. but only thing is i am suffering hypothyroid symptoms from past 4 days. am i giving low carbs in my diet? are they not sufficient for me? why i am asking you guys is my GP said that we wont do frequent thyroid tests . so they are not allowing for thyroid tests when ever i am not happy with my thyroid medication.

During ear infection treatment , not only ear infection treatment, but also what ever medicines i am taking , i am not feeling well with my health all the time. I am suffering with more weakness every time. levothyroxine and antibiotics makes my bones are very sore.

So i want to be happy with my health. I want more suggestions about carbs, fats and protien.

I'm no expert, sorry, I just know what works for me, but many here are very knowledgeable about this and I'm sure they'll chime in!

Low,not no carb, plus higher fat diet is supposedly helpful for Type 2 diabetes . Diabetes is associated with hypothyroidism. It may help stave off diabetes rather than help hypothyroidism.
