Last dexa was good news
I spent months reading labels to try and spread out my
calcium
intake through the day and make sure I get 1200.

My mother’s PSP , an update
Her magnesium was very low and
calcium
and potassium were very high. They gave her fluids and electrolyte but didn’t help her. Her BP was very low!

Endo appointment, T3 results at last and hyperparathyroidism possible
I am wondering if I need the high T4 to feel well and it's actually the effects of high PTH and
calcium
that make me feel ill but I am confusing it with how I feel with lower T4. It's been going on so long (high
calcium
since at least 2019 when I first had it tested) that it could be the case.

Amlodipine- calcium channel blockers
I have also been prescribed Amlodipine (
calcium
channel blockers) 5mg once a day to reduce BP. I am assured I will not feel drowsy or, breathless taking these. Anyone on this particular drug? What a roller coaster trying to get the correct meds/dosage.

Is it really necessary to take Alendronic Acid with these results?
Calcium
Supplementation: Under normal circumstances
calcium
supplementation is given alongside vitamin D supplementation, however, if the patient has a dietary intake of
calcium
that is equivalent to the proposed
calcium
supplementation; vitamin D supplementation is available without a
calcium
component

Help interpreting results
My parathyroid remained high as I was tested every 4 months, but didn’t drastically change and my
calcium
was the high range of normal, so under the advice of endocrinology, my GP stopped regularly testing for this.

Just a little rant
So here I am, switched to organic egg shell
calcium
( studies show this form absorbs over 60 percent more than any other form of
calcium
) and take small amount of vitamin C before meals and the meals I eat where I take my
calcium
, I finish that meal with Citric Acid.

Oh dear! it's that 'senior moment' time again
One of the 'uncommon' side effects that I am particularly concerned about is bone fracture, which I believe can be due to the impact on vitamin B12 and
calcium
absorption. So if you have any experience of this, I would love to hear from you. Meanwhile, I'm off to find a dark corner........

There are claims that it reduces
calcium
deposits in arteries. If so, would it cause problems for PV patients?

How big are AA tablets
My 1.25 vitamin D and
calcium
levels are fine, but I cannot take vitamin D supplements because of the danger of hypercalcaemia due to the sarcoidosis. I only was on steroids for about month, immediately post-injury.

Had paroxysmal since 2016
Normal sinus rhythm was restored about 10 minutes after a
calcium
blocker was administered. I was considering ablation but decided to wait to see if the Multaq would help. Multaq is expensive along with the Eliquis.

Heart Calcium Score scan scare
Hello all. Last week I had a scan done that my Dr ordered because I am diabetic and over 50. I can exercise fine with my heart rate to 170 at times. I don't have any heart disease in my family on both sides. My cholesterol and triglycerides are all well within normal range but..........this score

latest DEXA scan
I'm tempted to say no thanks and keep sucking down the
calcium
and vitamin D but would appreciate thoughts/comments from those understanding this part of PMR better than I.

Can NDT help with low calcium levels?
Calcium
levels tend to be fluctuating between ‘ normal’ and low. Have been given alfacalcidol to improve
calcium
absorption, but there is not much improvement. I am tempted to start private treatment with Armour thyroid, to see if it will improve matters. My daughter is on it and feels very well.
