Cough and methotrexate
I have a very tight chesty cough that is stopping me sleeping as I can't stop coughing when I lie down. I increased my methotrexate last week to 25 mg injections from tablets. Don't think this has anything to do with the cough but does anyone know what I can take to help or suppress it? Codeine suppresses

Making rls manageable, a continuing story
I have had quite bad rls for the last two years and over time, very little sleep. However I have tried to persevere without drugs, although my GP has prescribed low dose codeine (15mg) which helped at first but I now try not to take. My rls is currently much better. It hasn’t gone away but it’s sort

Blood test
Hi just looking for some advice. I had my blood test last thursday at 10.50am and I had taken my thyroxine around 8am. I just had a call from Gp reception and told the GP wants to reduce my thyroxine from 125mcg to 100mcg. My TSH level is 0.06 and free thyroxine is 26, I have asked for a copy of results

AF Ablation at London Bridge
Hi guys, after being diagnosed with AF 18 months ago and two Cardioversions, I had an ablation at London Bridge yesterday which now has me in Sinus Rhythm with a nice strong beat. I’d been in persistent AF for 7 months, so had my doubts wrt a successful outcome, seemed to be 50/70% chance. The team

I feel like a drug addict asking for pain killers
My endo hasn’t improved much and I have the fear I’m going to become addicted to codeine. I used to be on tramadol but I asked to be taken off because it made everything feel like a dream. I’ve been trying not to take them but when I don’t I get these horrible flare ups and I also just had my period

Elevated TSH despite its suppression
I had papillary thyroid cancer 4 years ago with local lymph node metastases. I had a complete thyroidectomy and underwent radio iodine therapy. I take a high dose of T4 and normally my TSH level is 0.5 or below. In two recent blood tests my TSH was around 6mcUI/ml, just above and below, and T4 was at

levo&ndt doses
Hello, I would like to try a combo of levo &ndt insted levo &T3. Now I take 125mcg levo +5T3 in the morning and another 5T3 in the afternoon and 5T3 at bedtime. I'm thinking of lowering the levo to 100mcg and replacing the rest with ndt (or levo&ndt in the morning+T3 in the afternoon) but I don't know-how

Reducing pregabalin
I'm down to 250 mgs pregabalin and there has been no difference to when I was taking 400 mgs. I try to have no sugar which I think helps. This evening I didn't take tramadol or codeine and although I've had mild rls I've copied with it. After going to bed I watched some TV. I had a coffee when my legs

I’m just about to order iodine from Amazon. Can anyone help with type, amounts needed etc. I can’t eat fish so struggle to get much iodine naturally.

Can you have a delayed allergic reaction to iodine?
Hi all! I had my laparoscopy on Thursday (found and treated stage 2 along with cervical ectropion - the relief is sky high!) but I've developed a strange rash on my tummy, it's small bumps raised, quite red. Seems like it could be the iodine as that's where it's worse. Has anyone else had anything similar

I want to get rid of this disease ASAP. How can I do? I'm really disappointed with my hyperthyroidism.
I have been hyperthyroidism since six years ago. I think I didn't take medicines regularly, my heart is beating very fast. How can I do? Because of the side effects of radioactive iodine, I'm afraid to treat it. Now I take Carbimazol vs Propanol. I can't go to hospital because of my country's conditions

Thyroid test results with a total thyroidectomy
Good morning all. Can anyone answer my question - I had overactive thyroid in my teens then in 20’s had radioactive iodine followed by a ‘partial’ thyroidectomy about 2 years later. I had cause to need an ultrasound on my throat about 30 years ago and this showed I had no thyroid tissue there at all

100-150mcg of T3 but STILL COLD AND TIRED
Hello I am a 31 year old female. I have SELF DIAGNOSED as hypothyroid (normal TSH, LOW free T3, normal(ish) free T4). I had an eating disorder for 20 years and this can disrupt the HPA axis making TSH and T4 normal but T3 low due to conversion problem. I KNOW the dangers of self-medicating but I was

Changing treatment, had 12 months out of Kadcyla
Hi all, Not posted for a while, since having covid over Christmas I've had unbearable back pain, taking pain relief daily. Recent CT doesn't show any change to my bone mets, no nerves are being pinched either so onc can't attribute it to that, however the CT does show a 1cm progression in 1 of the liver

What’s my Options
Hi All, I have had Hyperthyroidism since 2016, been predominantly on Carbimozole during that time. Due to my Endocrinologist having a stroke prior to Covid and then Covid happened, consultations were cancelled and I was unmonitored for the best part of 2 years as consultations were always cancelled/moved

The chewing gum test
I was diagnosed with PMR April 2021 and GCA October 2021. I have been really struggling this last few months with pain all over and fatigue. GP would not advise to increase Prednisolone (currently 8mg) until I see a Rheumatologist and prescribed Codeine for the pain, which I am unable to take because
