Hi everybody, hope your all well or as well as IBS allows. I would appreciate a little advice, I've always suffered with IBS-C, good days and bad. Normal for me is 2/3 days. However for the last 18 days I've been suffering with diarrhoea, and an urgent need to go to the toilet first thing in the morning

What dose of daily iodine is recommended in hypothyroid?
What dose of daily iodine is recommended in hypothyroid? I have an iodine supplement that lists 150 mcg (micrograms) of iodine as 100% of the Daily Value but I have seen that some websites recommend much larger daily doses of iodine for hypothyroid patients. Thanks very much

Funny turn!
I had a funny turn today. I was walking into the kitchen and went really dizzy and felt like I was on a boat in high waves! Falling over and trying to stay upright, when I laid down I then could not lift my head off the pillow without the room spinning and thought I was going to be sick. Even when I

RA agony, debilitation, biologic not working, pain out of control
Hi all you kind listening ears, Still living with so much chronic pain & agony in so many joints (and connective tissue), day & night & unable to do even basic things. Been on my first biologic (Adalimumab) for over 3 months (after years on DMARDS). The blood test has now shown I am making antibodies

Constant pain
Hi everyone I’m just waiting for my larproscopy to remove endo scar tissue but I’m in pain all the time. I’m taking mefenamic acid and codeine every single day to function but can still feel the pain. Even doing every day things are a massive chore some days and trying to get through a shift at work

Help with vitamins and iron status
I wrote a rather rambling post last week, probably confused everyone. Hypo after RAI, changed from 125to 100/125 levo 10 weeks ago, Endo not happy with T4 (23). Now I'm not happy. TSH 2.75, T3 4.07, T4 20.8 All bloods taken first thing in the morning fasting. I've had a problem with high ferritin

The Effects of Long-Term High Water Iodine Levels in the External Environment on the Carotid Artery
Iodine continues to be a controversial issue with some suggesting supplementation is always inappropriate while others proclaim massive doses. For a change, this paper looks at a range of iodine intakes, and not as a supplement but in the water supply. [i]Open Access Published: 31 August 2021

RAI Decision to Make
I had a TT in February due to a 1.0 cm papillary cancer nodule. The cancer did not spread. I had my 6-month ultrasound and that came back good. It has been recommended for me to have the RAI treatment because there was some angioinvasion on the pathology report. I am on the fence about it. I am worried

I need advise because I’m really struggling with life right now.
I had RAI treatment for hyperthyroidism ( graves) in April of this year. Then after 2 months I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism with a tsh of 60. I was put on 50mg of Levo for 2 weeks, then I ended up In ambulatory care because I felt so anxious, with bad headache, thirsty, and cold sweats. They moved

What are your thoughts on this multi supplement
Are there any combinations within this product that shouldn’t be taken together? There’s iodine in it, which some schools of thought say that Hashimoto’s sufferers should avoid … Thanks

Experience with small endometriomas causing huge pain & egg harvesting
Hi all, This is my first post and I'm hoping for a little advice. I was diagnosed with endo last November after an emergency laparotomy to remove a 17cm endometrioma, along with my right ovary and tube. I had no symptoms before the day I went to A&E and everything was great after the surgery, I was told

Hi all, I have been on Humeria for 8 weeks now, the injecting is easy enough and I have no problems. I am in so much pain and the fatigue is unreal! I rang my rumey nurse a few weeks back and was told I cannot have any steroids until I have seen her and that is 11th November. I am taking the maximum

Feeling dehydrated even with drinking 2-3 liters per day
Has anyone been troubled with dehydration with CLL? My CLL was diagnosed in July as result of hospital admission for acute sigmoidal diverticulitis (never had this before). I am on W&W, my ALC was 20 from what I remember during that acute illness. RBC's, platelets and Hgb all preserved. Since that

Thyroid symptoms and iodine
I have all the symptoms of an underactive thyroid except I am sensitive to hot and cold. My tsh and t4 are normal, but t3 4.0. (Lab scale started at 3.9 ). In June I was much better and had had 2 iodine injections for scans. Does an iodine deficiency cause the same symptoms thanks

Fed up/ angry 😡
So had my post op appointment today with my surgeon , who carried out my laparoscopy 3 months ago.. I tried to ask questions.. like why is my pain worse now than it was prior my op? .. his response was 'well I removed the Endo so you shouldn't be in pain' .. I then went on to express that I have to take
