I want to get rid of this disease ASAP. How can I do? I'm really disappointed with my hyperthyroidism.

I have been hyperthyroidism since six years ago. I think I didn't take medicines regularly, my heart is beating very fast. How can I do? Because of the side effects of radioactive iodine, I'm afraid to treat it.

Now I take Carbimazol vs Propanol. I can't go to hospital because of my country's conditions.

I want to get rid of this disease ASAP.

How much Carbimazole & propranolol do you take?

Why didn’t you take your medicine regularly? Is it an issue with supply or are you having trouble remembering to take medicine on time?

It’s difficult to offer helpful advice, as it is best to work with a doctor. We can offer guidance on which blood test to have arranged to get the best care.

Is that something you are able to do? Do you have a general practitioner or primary care doctor or possibly directly through a private lab? you would need to check your thyroid levels and make sure you have the right level of medication?

I am sorry you feel afraid, but glad you have reached out to TUK members to offer support; we are here to help!

Which country do you live in mongjis? Do you have any thyroid blood tests to share (with ranges)?

Other than a fast heart beat, what other symptoms are you experiencing?

Sorry to read your post - and yes, there is a genetic predisposition to Graves Disease :

I started my learning with my Graves around 8 years post RAI thyroid ablation and learnt so much from Elaine Moore's first book - Graves Disease - A Practical Guide :

Elaine had had RAI too and finding no help with her continued il health started researching this poorly understood and badly treated auto immune disease herself and now 20 odd years later a lading well respected researcher into all things Graves.

I now self medicate with full spectrum thyroid hormone replacement, and still need to maintain and supplement my core strength vitamins and minerals of ferritin, folate, B12 and vitamin D at optimal levels. and am much improved to just taking T4 thyroid hormone replacement.

Hello Mongjis and welcome to the forum :

Graves is an auto immune disease and something has triggered your immune system to attack your body, it's not your fault and I understand the disappointment but you need to try and accept as you can't change what has happened.

You might like to read around Graves Disease on the Elaine Moore Graves Disease Foundation website - elaine-moore.com - and check out the section on alternative and more holistic treatment options that you can do for yourself, as it's very important to try and calm down your immune system response and understand your own ' triggers ' :

Graves is said to be life threatening if not medicated - are you being monitored at all and whereabouts are you in the World ?

I deeply regret having had RAI thyroid ablation - I don't recommend RAI treatment and believe it should be banned - but I am just one person for whom the consequences were much worse than the initial disease and I was well on the AT medication.

Many hundreds and likely thousands of other people would appear to be ok after RAI :

But they won't be here, on a forum, as most other people are unaware of this treatment's negatives, and appear to be ok and getting on with their lives afterwards.

Is there an option of a thyroidectomy in your country ?

Just thinking Elaine Moore has a forum, much like this, and has a World wide following - maybe join up there as well as write on here, and see if there is anyone on Elaine's forum from your country.
