I found recently that there may be a link between foot problems and rls
I suffer from dry skin and painful feet which I think may be affecting my rls
For some evenings i bathed my feet and added some foot lotion to the warm water I bathed the feet for 30 minutes and then applied dry skin lotion to the skin and massaged the feet vigorously
At bedtime I had a hot shower ( after taking my 150 mg pregabalin and 30 or 60 gm codeine and I was amazed that I did not suffer rls it may have nothing to do with my self help treatment and may well make my rls come back but it did give relief and if anyone else gets relief I would like to know

I agree. Whenever I have a blister or cut on my feet, it sends my RLS crazy. Peripheral neuropathy probably. Sensitive nerves in the feet. So many different causes & triggers for RLS. Peripheral neuropathy is one of them.
Yes, I have seen a direct relationship between swollen ankles and RLS. I usually use Magnilife’s Relaxing Leg cream on my ankles & all over my leg. Relaxing Leg cream is made specifically for RLS. That cream application usually stops my RLS immediately, but it doesn’t relieve the swelling pain. So, lately I’ve tried just using Voltaren gel on my swollen ankles and that worked—no RLS—plus it relieved my discomfort from my swollen ankles. This works best with the higher dosage of 2.3 % available only by prescription instead of the 1% OTC gel. I also take 100 mgs of Pregabalin and 100 mgs of Tramadol 3x/day. That keeps my RLS at bay, unless I have been overdoing walking or gardening, which cause my ankles to swell due to flat feet.
