Iodine as a potential endocrine disruptor-a role of oxidative stress
Am somewhat surprised by this substantial paper on iodine - deficiency and excess are both addressed. As well as protection from radioactive iodine. They claim: [i]Universal awareness that iodine is a potential EDC would make consumers more careful regarding their diet and what they supplement in tablets

Is it common to get chest pains with thyroid problems?
I saw a post today from someone who was having chest pain with their thyroid problem and was wondering if my pain could indicate I have the same. I have been in A&E today for the second time in 10 days with ongoing short, sharp pain on the left hand side of my chest with palpitations. Last week they

Graves' Ophthalmopathy in the Setting of Primary Hypothyroidism

Massive anxiety flare just before period is about to start because I am soo worried about the pain.
So I have suffered with Endo and Adeno symptoms for like past 15/16 years and unfortunately am no stranger to being in pain because of it. However, over the last few months / periods, the pain has become soo much worse...which I didn't even think was possible. (I'm not sure if it is because of taking

Hyperthyroid and TED - Is Thyroidectomy the only answer?
Hi All, I am in US and I was diagnosed with Graves back in Dec of 2017. I have been on Methimazole since then and my dose needs to be adjusted regularly as my thyroid levels keeps fluctuating. I went on quite a low dose as low as 2.5 mg from 30 mg back in 2021 and looked like I might get into remission

Long term Carbimazole
I was diagnosed with Graves in December 2020, this caused AF so medicated for both successfully. Eventually down to 5 mg of Carbimazole and no other meds. Feeling good and then Tom by Endo, I would need to come off Carbimazole to see if I was in remission. Bloods on 5mg TSH 1.34 Bloods after 8 weeks

Oramorph and codeine- how far to space them out?
I have been prescribed oramorph for a week after emergency surgery, can take it every 2-4 hours. It doesn’t really help with pain too much. I was taking tramadol in hospital too, but haven’t got any of that to come home with. I’ve got codeine at home and wondered if I can take some in the same day?

Personalised Vitamin Plans (radio)
Just a quick alert to the devious vitamin sales people! I'm sure many here are all too well aware of schemes like these. However, the end result seems to suggest just taking a multivitamin. And we know that there is a strong (and evidenced) view that multivitamins are not ideal. Issues like combinations

Salivary gland pain
Has anyone experienced salivary gland problems after RAI? I had RAI two years ago and sometimes have pain under my ear when swallowing a bit like I had when I received RAI.

SOB relief
Hi, I'm new to this site, in my mid-60's with bronchiectasis and an FEV1 of around 40%. I'm just wondering if anyone has experience of being given something like a mild version of oramorph to relieve the discomfort of ongoing dyspnea, or at what stage that becomes possible ? At the moment I have to use
