10 years ago i had a large toxic nodule on my thyroid so was hyper active. I had RAI and so became hypo. Levo did nothing for me and still felt bad a d gained weight, tired etc, no diet worked. Started ndt (thiroyd) for years and e erything improved. My endo was not happy about this and since thiroyd was no longer available, i agreed to go on t4/t3 combo (15 months ago) This has worked out well. However since feb this year i have been intermittent fasting for dugestion and to lise weight. I have lost 17 pounds. Recently i have felt hyper symptons returning. Do you think i should lower my doses due to weight loss and improved digestion? I currently take 50mcg eltroxin and 20mcg liothyronine

Do you have any recent results you can share?
No the doc only takes tsh and sometimes t4. Last year he said it was ok, my tsh suppressed and t4 11 (range 12 - 22). When i do a private blood test my tsh is suppressed, t4 lowest end and t3 middle of range and they advised i was overmedicated. That was over a year ago though. I really need to do another test but will have to wait until im flush
Doctors are focusing on TSH. If your FT4 is under range & there is no FT3 result can they really argue you are over medicated?
Some say they feel well if FT3 in mid - or just above mid range & FT4 does not impact them. Some only feel well if both FT4 is in top third & FT3 in top half of range.
Where do you feel well?
Thyroidnodules The feelings and symptoms of over and under medication can be identical. The only way to know what to do is to look at blood results. If you have had bloods checked and post the results then folks will help.
