Advice
Diagnosis of emphysema 14 months ago. No real advice given. Told it is mild to severe. Apart from being active what else can I do to slow down this disease. Are there any specific breathing exercises that are good to adopt. I have read a fair amount online but it is not that helpful. Advice from someone

White coat hypertension
I'm wondering if anyone on here has experienceof White Coat Hypertension. I suffer it quite badly. It can go as high as 208/78 but is usually around 185/70. However, I normally have low blood pressure around 105/55. I have just had a DOPLA scan, which they have said might not show anything because

blood pressure phobia
hi all Anyone on here have a phobia of actually taking blood pressure even at home! I am on meds for blood pressure but truly believe it’s down to my fear of taking my BP. Had blood tests done few months ago and actually got my reading down to 121/81 I thought I had cracked it. Done my readings last

Bridesmaid anxiety
Hello all, really didn't know if this would be the right place for this, but I feel like I'm losing my mind and hopefully someone will understand. I've had IBS for 10+ years and it's thankfully (and presently) in a well-managed place. I've really been working on my associated anxiety which is triggered

life changes
so with my anxiety and depression making me physically ill. I decided to do sort of a refresh. I’m no longer smoking weed, doing yoga and lots of breathing exercises (actually got into diaphragmatic breathing 10/10 recommend having to focus on my breathing n if I’m doing it right tends to calm the anxiety

On the Road to Recovery of Sexual Harassment and Domestic Violence and fighting for justice
Hello. I would like to share about the time that I was a victim of sexual harassment, domestic violence and emotional abuse. In 2018, I was blackmailed or as some call it a victim of Sextortion. Before let me give a bit of a background. I date someone for a long period of time. We were even talking

Still don’t really know if I have asthma or not
I have measured it after
exercise
still no change I can
exercise
intensively and my
breathing
recovers quickly as expected. Though before
exercise
I am often a bit wary (likely anxiety) This may sound sad but I’m just being honest.

Breathlessness
It has transformed my tolerance to
exercise
and helped my
breathing
immeasurably. It's all about charging your body with oxygen by improving the efficiency of your breathing by slowing the intake and increasing the volume of oxygen rather than "panting" where you take shorter breaths more often.

Exercise
Last week, the opthalmologist advised me to try and modify some lifestyle factors that may increase eye pressure . For example: avoid positions where the “ head is lower than the heart” for a “sustained period” in general. I have read that “downward dog” in yoga and headstands raise the IOP. I do

Been a while
Basically I’ve had one major problem since I came out, breathlessness on exertion, I.e. when I try to
exercise
. It doesn’t take many seconds for the
breathing
to rectify itself so I know it’s not the valve ( hosp said ts working fine) so what is it.

What are your thoughts on breathing techniques vs medication?
To undertake the diaphragmatic
breathing
exercise
, you need to do - -Relax your shoulders and sit back or lie down. -Place one hand on your belly and one on your chest. -Inhale through your nose for two seconds, feeling the air move into your abdomen and feeling your stomach move out.
