Can you get both types of meningitis for one person?
hi, i’ve been told that my young cousin, 7 years old in may, has meningitis. Aswell, i have been told that he has both types, bacterial and virus, is this possible, i tried looking it up but nothing gave me the answer. Can one person get both bacteria and virus types of meningitis?

Any advice for returning home after discharge?
Hi All, I am new here. Life changed dramatically 6 months ago when my wife was given days to live after a brain tumour was discovered from a routine CT & MRI scan after my wife fell and hit her head. Now with 1 month to go until my wife returns home for the next stage of building our lives together

Natural Anxiety Supplements?
Hi there. Recently I have been taking Kava Root and it has been helping my anxiety quite a lot! I start getting dizzy, panicky, etc and I take the dropper of Kava. Usually my symptoms are gone in about 15 to 20 minutes. It's really been helping me. I was just wondering if anyone else could recommend

Help! My legs are swollen all the time.
I have followed this community for a long time but rarely post. However, I am hoping someone can help me. I was diagnosed 17 years ago and had DBS on my left side to control my tremor in my right arm/hand in 2010. I am scheduled for DBS on June 3rd to make my symptoms on the left side behave. The swelling

dystonia after requip
My husband developed dystonia approximately 10 years ago. We figured out that he developed it after taking Requip. His provider was clueless that the Requip could have caused the dystonia. I am a retired nurse and figured it out about a year after he developed the dystonia. No one believed me when

Focused Ultrasound in Switzerland
I have decided to see if I can have focused ultrasound at Sonimodul clinic in Switzerland. The neurologist there has the most experienced and 2 friends have had excellent results. I’ve collated lots of information for anyone who’s interested. https://sonimodul.ch https://www.frontiersin.org/articles

Baby suffered viral meningitis
Hi everyone. So my poor 4 month old baby boy was diagnosed with viral meningitis last week. We spent 4 days inhospital and then was discharged as he started to feel lots better. However he is still very up and down. I understand that it’s still only early days but some days he is very happy and like

Seeing infectious diseases consultant this morning.
I have had symptoms for decades. It feels to me like more minor recurring meningitis. Five years ago at this Infectious diseases clinic, They diagnosed me with CFS/ME. It was the only thing they had left. Five years ago I didn’t know about recurring meningitis. Know that I do I am going to ask them

Another Question about DBS
I’ve been following the latest discussions about DBS. It makes me feel hopeful. However, I have a pacemaker already and am wondering if that would disqualify me as a candidate. Has anyone ever heard anything about this? I plan to ask my MDS, but I don’t see him again until next January.

Weird feeling after cranioplasty
I’ve had Cranioplasty 2 weeks ago to repair my skull after have undergone multiple surgeries last year to remove grade 2 oligodendroglioma last July . (Benign). It got infected and in turn my bone had to be removed so I had to wait 6-8 months to make sure there was no infection. It wasn’t sore up until

Did anyone suffer from Anisocoria as a result of their brain injury?
I was assaulted and robbed at the end of December, which resulted in a subarachnoid heamoraage. About 6 weeks after the initial injury I had a really bad day, couldn't focus at all, really dizzy and extreme nausea. I looked in the mirror and one of my pupils was dilated quite a bit more than the other
