I had half my skull replaced with Titanium 5yrs ago. It has made little difference to me, other them when I go to the airport. It is a different sensation when I bump it but as for brain or physical exercise it is fine. Recommend you convince yourself it will be fine and it’s a good chance it will be. Good luck with everything.

Titanium has a reputation for the lowest infection rate and, although your acrylic plate has resulted in infection, there's every chance that this superior material will have results which are favourable and lasting. Good luck, and let us know how your surgery goes. Best wishes, Cat x

The clicking is extremely common after Titanium cranioplasty as swelling settles and the plate's fixings become more embedded. People report the clicking sound to last approx. three weeks although this varies from one person to another.

I read one report from a lady who, after a cranioplasty, was frustrated when her husband suggested she must be imagining the clicking. But when the doctor came to do his rounds one of his first questions was "Are you hearing any clicking ?" and he went on to assure her it was commonplace and temporary. I hope it settles before too long ; I'm sure it must be irritating. Cat x
