Sugar and insulin resistance
Hi - have been reading with interest the latest theories and research on the effect of sugar and insulin resistance. I'm overweight and eat far, far too much sugar. I'm wondering if anyone here has come across any guidelines as to how much sugar would be acceptable in a diet seeking to improve insulin

I'm new here
Very new to this. My name is Patrick and I have type 2 diabetes and want some advice/help on losing weight and dealing with a diet that is low in carbs. I cannot do without bread and potatoes as I have had them all my life as part of meals and cutting them out or even cutting down has proved impossible

---- ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE .
The purpose ofthe forum is to help the victims of diabetes or for that matter any auto immune disorder . Diabetes is a life style disorder and with few chenges in diet , sleep , rest and stress reduction it would be fully under control .All diets and all medicines are not suitable to all . So why can't

I'm new here, Interferon and ear ringing (ototoxicity)?
Hi, I'm a 32yo ET patient from Germany and found this group a couple of days ago. I was diagnosed five years ago with 1,9 mil platelets which are controlled by anagrelide (2mg) quite well since then. As some research points to superiority of Interferon in terms of disease progression I've tried Pegintron

Pulmonary Hypertension - can DHA in fish oil reduce arterial pressures?
I have discovered something that I think is very important and I just want to share the info. For those who just want the take home message - reducing Omega 6 in the diet and increasing Omega 3 (specifically by taking the DHA in fish oil) can possibly reduce arterial pressures. Everything you think is

The digestive and nutritional benefits of Dill
This may be thought a bit off topic but actually, it isn't as iron, folate, B vitamins, magnesium, potassium and glutathione are often discussed on the forum . Dill is my favourite herb - the aroma always takes me back long ago to a visit to Ireland made with my mother and a wonderful meal cooked and

Statin doses?
I take 20mg of Rosuvastatin daily and my cholesterol and Hdl are very good. My doctor prescribed 20mg a day but I heard from a friend that its better to take at least 40mg a day as statins keep the vessels pliable and dont just help with cholesterol reduction. I dont like the side effects of statins
