I'm a newbie
Hi all, I am not a stranger to a diet plan. I've tried them all over the last 10 years! But since being 35 my weight has crept up by another two stone and it's just not shifting. GP doesn't want to know as I have no associated issues like diabetes or heart problems. I've told myself that 2020 is the

Another post on low carb eating - theory and evidence
Well, at last, I'm impressed with the latest NHS diet advice, they've finally changed their tune and caught up with low carbs. As my hbA1c has gone up due to increased doses of Pred my GP is concerned I'm near Pre-diabetic levels. They have given me info on the NHS Healthier You programme and offered

Sugar levels
Hi folks Just had my blood test results back and my glucose is down from 41 (pre diabetic) to 35(normal). I am reducing the steroids. I would urge everyone to have the HBA1C test to keep an eye on your levels

Pre-diabetes and Diabetes prevention programs.
Hi everyone, Today I had to have an annual blood test at my GP's and I asked the nurse if they had many patients with pre-diabetes and she said they had so many they were running a program as were all health centres. As we have many members with pre-diabetes I think it's worth posting the NHS diabetes

High cholesterol , advice please
I have familial hypercholesterolemia, for years I've been able to control my reading at about 5.2, it's now gone to 7.3, too high. My doctor tells me my old statin can't be increased, so needs to change it to double my prescription to 20 mg. Can you recommend a statin to be taken with prednisolone?

Healthy Diet? It is neither Low Carbs nor Low Fats- Both could be equally Bad or equally Good...
Very recently, I came across a couple of very thought provoking articles.. As per the studies, which seem to have originated from USA, one needs to be careful while choosing the quality of the Macronutrients one eats namely Carbs, Fats and protein..... The all cause mortality is linked to an un-healthy
