Struggling to find out what best to eat health wise
I’m a great fan of Dr Michael Mosley, who presents the BBC programme “Trust Me I’m a Doctor”. I have read articles on how he reversed his own Type 2 Diabetes. You may wish to follow this link for more info thebloodsugardiet.com/micha...
In my opinion the trigger that actually causes diabetes is high fats. Once you have diabetes then generally sugars make matters much worse and should be avoided. Bear in mind there are studies showing people eating high amounts of refined sugars and not developing diabetes, rather the opposite actually recovering from diabetes.
Also generally differentiate beween refined carbs and unrefined carbs. In the refined category are most of the breads in supermarkets, all cheap flours, all popular cereal breakfast packets (even "high bran" cereals!)
In the unrefined and recommended category are all whole foods and all fruit & plants that you can find in any supermarket. Research shows that these reliably bring down glicemic levels and reverse diabetes type 2.
One resource to look at is chewfo.com/diets/the-end-of... where following Joel Fuhrman's approach he claims a possible reduction of medications by an average of 50% if the first week, more in the first month, and most typically 100% within six months.
If you follow this approach please let us know how you get on.
