Newly diagnosed with AF
I’m newly diagnosed with af a 53 year old man. Feel reasonably fit. I have been put on one of the new blood thinners rivaroxaban. Any advice or direction would be most gratefully received. I do have raised blood sugar levels but not to the point of a type 2 diabetes diagnosis and am medicated for high

Hepatologist Appt 🥰
For those who have been wondering, I finally had my appt yesterday. He isn’t the one I’ve been waiting for. Seemed the other one was taking a little too long. My GI’s NP made a phone call to Dr Mantry, head of Hepatology at Methodist Liver Institute in Dallas. (Methodist denied him seeing me a few months

I am currently reading 'Eat rich Live Long' by Cummins and Gerber MD. It is a fascinating book that borders on being a full blown medical textbook in that it provides the most lucid explanation I have seen about the devastating effects of eating sugar on the human body, what it does to the bodies systems

Does topical retinoic acid effect the thyroid??
I believe that 25 years of daily topical Retin a has had an effect on my ability to convert t4 to active t3 based on my blood work. I do not have an autoimmune disorder. Wondering if it has something to do with retinol binding receptors and thyroid receptors?? Any ideas!????

Hi! New to this Community
Hi Everyone! I have just joined this Community and am also in the Liver Community. I have had Type 2 Diaberes for at least 20 years - haven’t anything more than a feeling as to when first diagnosed. As usual, I suppose ?, it was controlled by diet moving on to Metformin. When I had my liver transplant

Physical Activity reduces mortality in Diabetics.
Patients with type 2 diabetes should be prescribed physical activity to control blood sugar and improve heart health. That is one of the recommendations in a position paper of the European Association of Preventive Cardiology (EAPC), a branch of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC). The paper

Vitamin A and the Liver
I came across this and thought some may find it interesting, especially those who are wondering why they follow a good diet, don't drink, and don't have any virus or autoimmune problems. It seems to fall in line with the advice to not take anything, including supplements and, in some cases, certain foods

What shall I do?
Next month will be a year since being properly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. For some reason I have not yet received a letter from my GP about a diabetic review. They’ve not helped me and supported me like I hoped, I feel like they’ve put me to one side To deal with it because I’m only 23.

Bile Acid Malabsorption
2.5 rather miserable and very symptomatic years after coeliac diagnosis I have just been diagnosed with the above too. The drugs have worked from day 1 and my life is really transformed :) So if you’re coeliac and still symptomatic while being really strict with your GF then it’s worth asking about.
