I had Open Heart Surgery twice in April 2019 to repair a Thoracic Ascending Aortic Aneurysm. Was in a months in total. After surgery I was in a month with infections and various bouts of AFIB. I was initially on Amiodarone. 3 weeks later I had other bouts of Afib brought on by Pneumonia and Sepsis.

Gluten-free Fishcakes and Tzatziki dip.🐠😸😻😋❤️🌺
I felt so much energy today so I decided to be creative in my kitchen. Thank you Happyman4 for inspiring me to make fishcakes with Greek yogurt dip in mind. 😊🙏 My fishcakes recipe: 1. Defrost cods and fillet and mash them in a bowl (I like to taste some fish chunks so I don’t make them too mushy).

Sauna.
I had my heart surgery a year ago. Repairing a thoracic aneurysm and replacing a bicuspid valve. My son is leaving home today and I was considering what to do with his room. He suggested I install an infrared sauna and I love the idea. It would certainly help to ease the osteoarthritis pain I've started

Husband Update
It seems like so long since I’ve updated, but it’s been only a few months. Husband is doing… ok. We’ve just received news that they've found a donor for his stem cell transplant and is scheduled to be admitted at the end of next month. It’s all become very, very real. The kids and I won’t be able

AFib or other arrhythmia??
Hi peeps, as some of you know, I was diagnosed with Afib last year. Prior to this, I had had another type of arrhythmia for many years and had been under a cardiology dept for nearly as long. My problem now is differentiating between Afib and the other arrhythmia. When I was first taken to hospital

Gluten free vegan ground almond and dried fruit cookies.
Hi everyone, I have a gluten free vegan neighbour who loves baking so we often get together for tea and cake or cookies. Earlier in the week I was given some gorgeous vegan gf ginger cake which I had with raspberries and ice cream. https://healthunlocked.com/veganfoodsforlife/posts/146399416/gluten-free-vegan-ginger-cake-with-raspberries-and-ice-cream

Is twitching when sleeping a sign of AF?
My husband is 8 weeks post NSTEMI heart attack which brought on AFib, he has had 3 episodes of AF since two of which happened as he was sleeping and woke him. He never had AF before the heart attack. He now twitches and jerks in his sleep several times a week, he never used to before the heart attack

One year on.
My elective heart surgery went badly wrong and cost me an arm and a leg. I remember being told, while pinned to the bed, that, a year from now, I would be fully functioning again and happy with the benefits of my operation. Surgery to repair an aneurysm and replace a bicuspid valve is never going to

High Cholesterol
Hi, I am 35 years older, health weight/diet, do not smoke. However my cholesterol level is 5.7 - I am unsure what else I can do to lower it and I’m feeling very anxious that it’s high especially given my age. The nurse said that high cholesterol increases risk of stroke and heart attacks which has

Atrial Fibrillation or not?
My query is do I have Atrial Fibrillation or should it be named something else. I have a normal sinus rhythm but I am tachycardic and the heart rate spikes at times. I have frequent ectopic beats but have been advised they are of no concern. Just been prescribed 1.25mg of Bisoprolol.

Skipped beats in a row
I can go about my day to day fine with no symptoms, and out of nowhere and during my sleep I can have about 5 skipped beats in a row before I jump back into NSR - does anyone else have experience of this? It’s very jolting waiting to go back to NSR, I’m about to start bisopropol to see if this will help

What does cardiac rehab class involve after mitral valve repair?
It is 3 months since my op (open heart surgery for valve repair & ablation for AF) and I have not had any cardiac rehab yet. I was meant to get notice of something, but nothing has happened yet. Can anyone tell me what it involves, eg is it a group or 1:1 and what happens in the time? Any experience
