When to Stop Beta Blockers
Hi All - I’m wondering if the beta blockers I’m taking are doing more harm than good? I had never taken beta blockers (I’m now taking metoprolol 25 mg once a day) before my ablation, but after my ablation they were prescribed for the week following. Unfortunately I never felt comfortable not taking them

Is this angina?
Hi all, I was diagnosed with afib 3 years ago and have mentioned to several medics (cardiologists, arrhythmia nurses) that I occasionally had slight heart aches when exercising or stressed, but none of them seem concerned. Afib does not seem to be related to heart pain - so I'm not sure whether the

Safe INR level for Ablation?
I am one week from my first cyro ablation and my blood INR is 1.2. Most recommend a value between 2.0 and 3.0. What are folks' knowledge and experience in this area? Might I be canceled as, according to these numbers from today's tests, the Pradaxa hasn't thinned my blood much. Are these the cases where

Life expectancy with MF
Hello, all. I was diagnosed with post ET MF in 2019, after having been diagnosed with ET jak 2 in 2008. In 2019, I had my second BMB where it was confirmed I had progressed to MF, intermediate 1. I had a third BMB last September to determine whether I was a candidate for a bone marrow transplant. At

1 month out from RF ablation for asymptomatic afib
Hi. I was diagnosed with afib in late 2019 at age 66 and put on an anti-coag and sotalol. I was in and out of afib quite regularly but rarely symptomatic. Three cardioversions failed to restore normal sinus rhythm (NSR) for any real length of time, so ablations were suggested (I live in the US.) Since

Edoxaban causing breathlessness?
Does anyone else get this issue? I was put on this medication in August. Came off Apixaban for same issue. I get it late morning then teatime. It is getting less severe as I recover from a long series of chest infections. I have been diagnosed as having ‘flutter’ which can bring on AF. I await an ablation

The cheating side of town (or 5 minute tomato soup)
This is nearly as fast to make as opening a can of tomato soup. I'd found myself with a pot of droopy basil which I hadn't got around to using, and rather than waste it, i decided to rescue it while it was still OK to use. I only had store cupboard ingredients to hand, so used what I had. The ingredients

8 days post ablation
What a week?! I had an RF ablation at the start of last week but felt, what I thought, was excessive pain in my chest (particularly when lying on my back) 2/3 days after but just stuck with it thinking it was a standard recovery symptom for RF as I’d only had cryo done before. However on Thursday night

Anxiety over NHS heart attack radio adverts
Is anyone else’s health anxiety getting worse after these NHS heart attack early warning adverts? I feel like how they describe all the time! And lately I’ve been getting all those symptoms every few hours, every day - hard beats, chest pain/tightness, left sided jaw, shoulder, neck, arm ache. The works

Chest Pain, fear of heart attack.
Hi, I’m 20 year old man. I’ve suffered with anxiety a while but like don’t want to blow this off to it but it could be. So I had this sudden crushing chest pain 2 days ago, went into instant panic attack. Sat down with my mum and could talk and walk around but was fearing I was having a heart attack.

A warm Green Lentil Salad with Sweet Potato Chips
Hi everyone, I had this meal today at lunch time and enjoyed it. It has simple ingredients and it's versatile as it can be eaten as it is or can be topped with fish , egg or chicken breast. Edamame Beans can be replaced with frozen peas. Cooked green lentils, steamed broccoli florets, carrots, Edamame

CHD
My Mum died 11 days ago from CHD, My Dad had a triple heart bypass, 6 and half years ago. And sadly died 8 weeks later, CHD was one of the cause. What are the chances of me developing this?
