I have heart failure following a pacemaker being fitted. My heart rate at the time was 30BPM. Resting and I had blacked out. I was told that the atrial lead would not go into the correct position and 3 months later it was disconnected ;the heart failure has since become worse.my heart rate has now become 90 bpm.approx. I think it should be about 45bpm. I think the problem is now the ventricles are not synchronised and being measured independently.is this possible and could it be responsible for the heart failure

Firstly so sorry to hear about your problems.
My EP fought for me to have resynchronisation therapy pacemaker and explained to me that Heart Failure could be result of only one ventricle being paced & ventricles going out of sync and that this was a possibility after PM implant & he believed that prevention was better than cure. NICE guidelines said that RST Pacemaker should only be implanted once signs of Heart failure appear, which is why he had to fight for funding.
Having said that the left ventricle lead wasn’t correctly placed first time so I had to have a revision, all now in working order.
Regarding heart rate:- average heart rate would be between 60-90 so 90 is not particularly high. 45 would be considered low unless you were very fit & an athlete.
Heart failure will make you feel very poorly, My husband had Heart Failure a few years ago but the good news is that it can be treated & drugs worked for my husband who is now much improved.
Hope you are able to be helped with treatments.
