What can I do to stop getting colds and flus all the time?
Hi. I've been on IM B12 for about a year now and all symptoms have improved and I'm generally doing really well. I suspect B1 deficiency (improvement with oral supplementation) was present and I corrected D deficiency. I have hashimotos thyroiditis and am stable on medication. I still get colds and flus

Really high TSH
Hi I had a recent blood test and my TSH has come back at 8.7, this is the highest I've ever had. The docs called me on Thursday and when I said I'm on 200mcg Levo they said they needed to get me in for a review. I'm going today at 10.30am. TSH attached T4 is 15.3 (11-22.6) T3 is 4.2 (3.5-6.5) Any

Next step in solving the mystery of my burning feet, but need a little bit of advice
Hi all I’m in need of some more advice. As suggested, I’ve tried raising my vitamin levels since Nov 2023 and although not perfect, they’ve gone up. I’m still having burning in my feet so decided to go to a consultant. Below are my most recent bloods. 7th Feb 2024 Medichecks Blood tests

for about 2 months now I can feel my thyroid is swollen - I had blood tests by doctors and confirmed that my hormone levels are normal and thyroid is functioning. I then had an ultra sound which said that my thyroid was ‘diffuesly enlarged’ and that I also had ‘tiny cysts’ I have now been referred

puffy eyes levothyroxine
I was taking 100mcg levothyroxine my blood test result was TSH 4.36. Doctor advised to increase to 125mcg 4 days of week and 3 days 100mcg. I did that for first week to adjust as I could feel the difference in taking higher dose. I have now just continued on 125mcg every day as I really want to get my

Newbie and confused. Functional B12 deficiency?
Hi everyone, I am new here but I have been a member of the thyroid forum for many years. I've also just joined the Sjogren's and the lupus groups because some of my symptoms could be attributed to these though I have no diagnoses, and the Changing Faces group for my rhinophyma. I have Hashi's and thyroid

Poole Conference 14 March 2024
Theme Navigating Treatment Pathways beyond Chemotherapy. I am on watch and wait and fairly new to this site. I attended the conference to get a better insight into treatments available. As we all know we are all different and different treatments suit different people. I found it very informative

What to do when denosumab course ends?
I have been on denosumab injections since July 2019, so the injection that I am to have next month will probably be my last. During this time I have not had a Dexa scan at all. I am under "shared care" between my GP and the hospital, which is in practice a complete joke, as I have to dairy it, order

Anxiety v Asthma
Hi I visited my GP who prescribed Prednisone a week ago as she thought I had a viral infection. My only Asthma symptom has always been a tight chest, but as this has been ongoing for a fortnight despite the Pred my anxiety has gone through the roof because this isn’t my norm with regards to Asthma!

Cholesterol
Hello all, Following a recent blood test, I've received a message from my GP saying my cholesterol is a bit high and advising lifestyle changes and offering statins. I'm currently researching statins trying to make an informed decision. I read that they are advised for CVD. I have a leaking Mitral valve

A brief bit of information first. Last year I was diagnosed with cancer, resulting in major surgery in June and a long recuperation. (I have been told 12 months is not unusual) I had just started to feel much more normal when I went to the GP for an unrelated matter. She asked how I was, I said I still

New GP is considering to give me B12 pills instead of injections - would that be the same in the long run?
Started having B12 injections two yeas ago and worked fine. Now moved to a new village and the new GP ordered blood tests to see if I should continue. Fought back and said that without the injections my B12 levels are going down. He asked me to take vitamin pills and have another blood test. If levels
