Hi Everyone. I have yet another question [sorry!] I have cirrhosis, and gallstones were picked up in my last Cat Scan. Just wondering if gallstones can increase liver enzymes in blood tests? Thank you!

Having gallstones can indeed affect liver bloods. More information on the BLT page at:-

I had my gallbladder removed a couple of years ago. My liver enzymes had been elevated (3 x normal, so not crazy high) for some years. When the gallstones were discovered the medics expected that to be the cause of my elevated enzymes and predicted they would go back down after surgery. Indeed they did, but not to normal and then they elevated again. This turned out to be because I have chronic Hep C, but my experience and the views of the medics would certainly suggest that gallbladder issues do indeed have an effect on liver bloods.
