Blood test results - best practice
I have had rheumatoid disease for about nine months now and it has been really difficult to get access to my
blood
test results. The hospital provide labels, the
tests
are done at my surgery and the results are sent to the hospital.

What to do ….
I was having
blood
tests
every 3 months and a phone call from a specialist nurse. I would appreciate views and input from others with MF with high risk markers and what they have been told. Thank you in advance.

Hi, Midori here for advice for my son who may have Type 2.
After two visits within a week, we were told it was micro aneurisms in the eye and this reinforced my push for a GP appointment for
blood
tests
for
blood
sugars. Still Can't get an appointment! Not for Love, Money or the Old Medic's Network (Retired Nurse!).

recent blood tests
I was bounced around the NHS system for months as they couldn’t work out what was going on with me until I reached 55kg, and my next door neighbour who’s fortunately my GP nurse stepped in and added Thyroid Function
tests
to my
blood
panel that they’d requested.

What is a normal CRP level?
My
blood
tests
last week showed CRP levels of 4, so to refresh my memory I looked up "normal" levels of CRP.

Folic Acid - Fatigue and Methotrexate
My
blood
tests
are always okay. I'm quite active, go to the gym twice a week and try to do my 10,000 steps each day. - I've done this for many years now. But the fatigue is driving me nuts!

Buying T3 privately
My last lot of
blood
tests
are on my previous post. I will feel more secure if I can buy a supply. Also just in case endo decides to take me off of T3.

Advice on folic acid
I have every confidence in the consultant I saw, and have had
blood
tests
since to keep an eye on my iron levels , no acknowledgement from my gp regarding the letter the consultant sent to them.and to be honest have lost all faith in them.

Can diet affect blood tests
Hi, I know that taking certain supplements can affect thyroid
blood
tests
, e.g. biotin can supress TSH. Therefore can eating a large portion of biotin rich foods (eg liver or eggs) within 48hrs prior to a thyroid blood test have a similar effect?

Notes for upcoming GP appointment
I know that within my recent
blood
tests
the ANA came back as negative, which the lab has stated obviates the need for further ENA/DNA Ab testing, however in its recent guidelines the British Society for Rheumatology states that in people suspected of having Sjogrens Disease the ENA should still be measured
