tooth extraction and Edoxaban
hi I have AF and take 60mg of Edoxaban and Bisoprolol (10mg) daily. Am due to have tooth out mid September and wondering how others have managed with taking the Edoxaban and tooth extraction/bleeding. Plan to talk to my dentist beforehand but has anyone experience of tooth extraction whilst on anticoagulants

hi all. We have a sicky bug circulating in our house, which has affected our visiting family too. Guess it’s back!
Wanted to share my experience of my AF returning after 3 years. Was sitting at home after walking 24.000 steps the previous day when I started to feel hot, sweating and then suddenly throwing up and not feeling at all well. That’s when I realised my AF had returned with a heartbeat of over 160. I immediately

betablocker before surgery
Hey everyone tomorrow I have my first surgery ever (not heart related). My anesthesist told me I should take my bisoprolol 1.25mg in the morning before entering the clinic but I'm scared to do this because I read some articles that it could lead to adrenaline not responding when given in anesthesia

Beta Blocker (Bisoprolol or Propanolol) for long-term management of high-BP?
I have consistently high-BP, which I've had for many years. The problem I have is with the Systolic (which consistently comes in the 140s or 150s range, which is considered too high nowadays). My Diastolic has always been fine. I currently take a Calcium-channel blocker (Verapamil), a Angiotensin-receptor

Ivabradine vs bisoprolol for POTS and palpitations
Has anyone any experience of Ivabradine? I have worsening (or a bad patch?) of palpitaions with underlying mild POTS. The bisoprolol doesn't seem to be helping with the palpitations which seem to have worsened recently and changed from ventricular focussed to atrial. It seems an odd choice to me (and

Clopidogrel dreams
I’m taking Clopidogrel for the second time in 5 years. The first time I had 3 stents fitted and had to take It to stop my stents from blocking. This time is after a heart attack, again for a year. When I took them 5 years ago I was having regular nightmares. Someone else said they had the same experience

From EHA June 2022. Treating hypertension in patients receiving BTK inhibitors
My own Ibrutinib induced hypertension has been tricky to treat and Losartan, which did suit me, had to be stopped as it was contraindicated. Now on Amlopidine and it's not effective at all so going back to Losartan now that I'm off Ibrutinib. Interesting in that he says that more than one class of

Bisoprolol Reduction Update after ( 1 Week)
I use to take 5mg of bisoprolol for almost 2.5yrs . HR then 56bpm. Recently (after 1 Week now) it was reduced to 2.5mg. HR now 68bpm - so you can see the effect of differing bisoprolol strengths (at least 10bpm.) I feel I have more energy than before - whether its psychosomatic or overthinking

How am I still anemic?
hi folks. I’m hoping for some advice. I had open heart surgery in sept 21 and then again in Jan 22. I had a blood transfusion after the second one (1 bag). I’ve been anemic ever since. They started giving me on iron tablets 3 months ago , after dietary changes didn’t improve things , but my iron stores

Heat and medication
Hi, Wife has PAF and is on Bisoprolol, Rivaroxaban, Omeprazole and Lozartin. Her right knee joint has suddenly started seizing up , difficult to bend , and put weight on. A cold ice pack makes a real difference so suspect its muscular. We cant guess why the knee has started playing up. Can
