Bisoprolol to Diltiazem
So I've been put on Diltiazem (120mg per day PR) after being on Bisoprolol for 4 months, change of meds due to the horrible side effects of bisoprolol . So took my last bisoprolol Sunday evening as usual then stopped and took my first diltiazem yesterday evening. Had the best nights sleep for ages and

Eventful Weekend
Afternoon AF Warriors. Thought I would update you with my introduction to Dabigatron and Bisoprolol. Commenced DG on Wednesday, so far so good. Friday afternoon experienced facial flush and generally felt peculiar. Checked my BP it was high 187/110 HR 69. Wondering if this was a side effect of

Low blood pressure
I was diagnosed with AF in October ( now permanent but controlled)and heart failure in December(EF 32). I am now on Bisoprolol 2.5mg, Edoxaban60mg, Entresto24mg twice daily, and new one Spironolactone25g. My problem is that my already low BP plummets every time a new drug is introduced or an increase

Bisoprolol
I've now bern changed from Bisoprolol which was causing me major problems but now been changed to Digoxin but my GP has got to speack to the cardiologist as they clearly haven't read my notes as I have a kidney disease and liver disease and not great kidney function.

My AF Journey and Statins ?
I started getting palpitations in Jul/Aug 2017 and was diagnosed with af, however it was only occasional ie 2-3 times per year for the next couple of years. Gradually got worse and eventually was getting af attacks every couple of days and last year was put on 1.25 mg of Bisoprolol which I hated, extreme

Flecainide sticking in esophagus
I’ve been on regular flecainide and bisoprolol for around three years and until today never really had any issues swallowing my 50mg tablets. However, this morning it seemed to stick in my esophagus at just above the chest area. It was a bit uncomfortable and may have caused fairly significant pain across

I'm 85 and have suffered with AF as long as I can remember. I recall worrying about my heart missing beats and thinking the worst. Specialist doctors tried Flecanide and Sotolol which helped by limiting my episodes paroxysmally but I was still aware of AF when playing tennis and golf. My doctor got permission

Arrhythmia after open heart surgery - any others with similiar experiences?
Hi there, I'm new to this forum and looking forward to learning from you all. 8 weeks ago I had open heart surgey to correct a large atrial septal defect (hole in the heart). It was diagnosed at Christmas. Prior to this I had no cardiac symptoms at all - I was power lifting in the gym, cycling a 20km

AF but erratic pulse rate is below 100
Hi all, I am currently on a long distance walk in Sweden and had just finished 7 days of walking when I felt the jitters and realized I had started another AF episode. I am on Xarelto, bisoprolol and Irbesartan for BP. This episode is a little different in that my only real symptom is an irregular

Post DC Cardioversion advice
My husband has had AF jumpy heart rhythm for years and has meds for slightly high BP - Bisoprolol and Ramipril, but has been getting a bit tired and breathless on exertion. So he had DC Cardioversion yesterday and is in sinus. But his resting heart rate is hovering around 50 and if he does anything

bisoprolol and running
Since I started taking bisoprolol for arrhythmia , I can’t run more than 20 or 30 m without stopping for a rest. I’ve run every day for 50 years so it’s a big miss. Is there a different beta blocker that wouldn’t make me so tired?

Target heart rate on Bisoprolol
Hi All. On Cardiologist advice have stopped BP medication in favour of increasing Bisoprolol dose. Seems to work but Unfortunately the wording is “ increase dose as much as heart will allow”!!! Not particularly specific, have increased up to 3.75mg in the morning. BP great but in the morning my pulse

Side effects.
Today I start taking Dabigatran and Bisoprolol for Paroxysmal AF. As someone who loathes taking any medications, reading the side effects is disconcerting. However, after suffering a 9 hour AF episode last night which has rendered me exhausted; I realise meds are the only possible solution to ease

Too much to take in!
A lot going on with no answers. Firstly having been diagnosed with AF in May, I had my fourth episode whilst in France a couple of weeks ago. Previous to that I was asked whether I would take part in the DOCCLA system which is an extension of a hospital ward apparently where they monitor you at home

A cautionary Flecainide tale
Brief history, I had two ablations in 2019, the second one being in Sept. I'm currently 56 and like exercise. Since 2019 I stopped competing and training for triathlon and knocked everything back loads. Around Oct 21 I noticed arrhythmias, looking back on my notes it mostly seemed to start with atrial

BNP Test
Had BNP test, result was 214 ng/L, GP said to come off meds as this was a normal reading, meds are 2.5mg Ramipril and same for Bisoprolol. Does anyone know if this reading is fine, I was on the meds when test was done so wondering if anyone else has had this and what the levels/guidelines are. I have

Pills Can Cause More Problems
Here's my story: I've had AF for 18 years and have certainly suffered over that time. After 3 ablations and still having arrhythmia which included the following info copied from ECG July 2022 :
Atrial flutter with variable AV block with premature ventricular or aberrantly conducted complexes[
