Advice on halting bone loss following Dexa and hrt or other supplements.
Thyroid cancer at 23, high dose T4 requiring propranolol for 17 years, then battles over dosage post menopause as rules changed. T3, when measured, always seemed to be at a good level. I didn't take HRT as it was at the height of the cancer scare. I regret it now. Sjogrens and very low vitamin D diagnosed

Update to private cardiology consultation.
I am really pleased with today’s appointment. I gave him a list I had typed of all my questions and he went through them one by one. He was very happy with the Kardia ecg printouts and didn’t require an ecg there. We discussed many things Af and heart related. He also reviewed my cholesterol figures

how statins slow growth of prostate
Cedars-Sinai Cancer investigators have found that lowering blood cholesterol enhances the action of immune cells, slowing the growth of prostate cancer. (Clinical Cancer Research: https://doi.org/10.1158/1078-Q434.ccr-21-1535). It provides a rationale for large-scale clinical testing of using cholesterol

is it safe to stop taking statins suddenly?
I have been taking them for a couple of years now, no obvious side effects, but am wondering if they could be causing muscle aches. I am in early 70s so could be just my age, but I would like to try anyway

Sleep apnea and heart problems ?
I have had very strong palpitation at night for over 5 years now.....I have had every test possible on my heart including numerous ecg's, heart scans, echo tests, calcium scoring and 2 angiograms....all of which has come up with nothing (which is obviously reasuring) however I am still getting heavy

Saw my Cardiologist Today
Feel so much better as he takes time an care to answer questions and explain things. Typically, as well as having one branch that has completely occluded I have another branch that was partially blocked but is now clear. He reckons that both of these events caused the pains I was experiencing back in

Zoladex and HRT
Spoke to surgeonSo my surgeon rang yesterday and explained why they aborted the hysterectomy on Tuesday. He said my cervix was fused to my bowel and possibly left ovary and my rectum had been pulled down too. He said it looked to be endometriosis that had been there a long, long time and they wouldn't

Statins
Wondering if any one has any input on my situation. My cholesterol levels are pretty high but my cardiac calcium score is zero and MRA is normal. I've seen 2 cardiologists who both say I don't need a statin because my score is zero however my neurologist says I do because of the high cholesterol. My MPN

is there anything I should be aware of when taking both? I suspect my doctor will be suggesting I take statins this afternoon in our telephone appointment due to blood test results.

statins & underactive thyroid
I had a cholesterol reading of 6.9 and was told this is too high. The nurse asked how I felt about going on statins although she said I am low risk due to my lifestyle & diet. I’m not keen on going on statins because I heard that they are not good to take if you have an underactive thyroid. Also was

CT Scan - Angiogram not done
I am being investigated for Angina, symptoms mild, but there is a family history. Currently on Statins, Asprin and Beta-blocker. I was booked for a CT Cardiac Gated Complex Congenital with Contrast. I arrived, got in the donut had the first scan - described as "simple of the heart" - then nurse came

statins
I am on 20mg of atorvastatin and I understand that's not good for RLS. I'm sure I've read in the past that there is a statin that is ok for us sufferers but can't remember the name. Could anyone help with that please.
