Lyme disease from UK spider bite?
Hi, a few years ago I got bit on the leg by what I think was a false white spider. I did not see the spider but the wound looks like others who had this bite. I remember the next few days feeling unwell and flu like. Dr gave 2 weeks of antibotics and it took 3 months to heal and I had to get the necrotic

Some questions from a Newbie in Limbo
Diagnosed 2 weeks ago, waiting in Chromosome analysis for my sub type, just had a few questions for fellow sufferers. 1. Ive just had night sweats for the first time? I had a pretty nasty cold so maybe its to be expected. Should I call my haemotologist? He gave me the impression we needed to wait til

Immunizations galore
My haemo has me set up to get a shingles shot and two pneumonia shots, because of my immune system being potentially lower due to the hydroxyurea. Public health nurse says I should also get a meningitis vaccination and an updated tetanus shot. All this before I even get my annual flu shot in the fall

Just thought some of you may be interested to know that I asked Blue Horizon if they use Biotin in their tests and they said no.

Need to get a grip
So I’m 5 days in to my cycle, period pretty much done. This morning was fine but this afternoon I have become awash with tiredness which is completely uncontrollable. Had a sleep on couch and woke up literally like all the sadness in the word has wrapped around my heart. I have no energy, still feel

Recovery from bacterial Meningitis.
Recovery from Baterial Meningitis. My husband is recovering from BM. It is very stressful not to understand what the after effects are. He has only been out of the hospital for 2 months. He had surgery to remove a pain pump that had gotten infected. The drs thought they removed it before the infection

Biotin
Just thought you fellow thyroid patients might like to now about a conversation I have just had with my Doctor. Doctor: "why do you need a retest of your TSH" Me: "because I realise that I hadn't stopped taking by Biotin prior to the test" Doc: "that wont make a difference" Me: "it affects the TSH results

On the fence over DBS
I'm new to posting. Have had PD diagnosed in 2012 after I cared for my husband and son with Huntington's over a period of 26 years, so I know how long and complicated neurological conditions can be. I have done pre-op for the Deep Brain Surgery and qualified for it, but my issues are not typical. I have

SX 1 of 2 Complete!
Well, I’m 3 days post-op from my DBS sx (shorthand for surgery), and everything went well. The neurosurgeon, and the psychiatrist (the one who came up w the study) were both really optimistic and encouraged that this will be a helpful tx (treatment) for me. The whole team in the OR were really kind to

NIACIN AND CKD AND FIBRE IN THE DIET.
I don't know if any of you read scientific papers, but I've been researching niacin, [vit. B 3] and along with a bunch of other papers, here is one:- https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2211913212007693 Conclusion Low-dose niacin had a low frequency of adverse effects and also improved

New arrival but old and new issues dbs, cbd oil, constipation, Kemadrin
I am new to this. Constipation is a big issue as the dosage of Movicol combined with Senekot does not work consistently and PD medication on time reduces from 3 hours down. I am considering a home enema kit as I seem to be permanently constipated. Anyone tried an enema kit? DBS application now in process
