Dutasteride Black Box Warning Label is Inappropriate.
This plot that I made goes back to the original paper by Thompson et al. (2003), that was the basis for slapping the Black Box Warning Label on Dutasteride prescriptions. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12824459/ There are some important points that should be considered: (1) Thompson only studied

Humbly (considering the 1/3rd's) I have to say I am very happy to say I responded to Pluvicto. Updated my BIO finally.
Doesnt take long I think to realize in the journey that just getting a response to a treatment is what you want because the flip side there may be no response at all to any particular treatment. The sorcerer is standing over me having just waved his/her wand over my head. Since the beginning 11/2019

Looking for Hope
My dad had his second Pluvicto treatment yesterday. His PSA is still rising. The doctor at University of Chicago is not happy with his bloodwork. He may try something else. Before Pluvicto he had Docetaxel and his PSA rose right after he stopped chemo. He also had target radiation that did nothing either

Length of Treatment for Orgovyx (Relugolix) versus Lupron and other Longer Acting ADT drugs as Adjuvant to RT or Used for IADT?
I'm curious if anyone has had any discussion with their MO or Radiation Oncologist about having to take a longer course of Orgovyx compared to Lupron or other longer acting ADT drugs because Testosterone comes back so much quicker on Orgovyx? It would seem to me, 6 months of Orgovyx is like the equivalent

Gleason 9 prostate cancer
Hello - my husband has aggressive gleason 9 prostate cancer. He had a prostatectomy in August 2015 but his psa remained high, suggesting it had already left the prostate. He then had IMRT to his pelvic area and was started on Zoladex adt (3monthly injections). He became castrate resistant so abiraterone

PSA still undetectable and testosterone doubles to 1.6
Just an update as I yesterday was blood test day. I’m continuing with the Apalutamide monotherapy, still enjoying working full time and just back from an Italian lake holiday. So no movement on my PSA but interesting to see testosterone creeping up ( 11 months since my last Zoledex injection so 8

High ALT, AST number in blood work
Hii all , Today my father got his latest blood report . PSA down to 2.96 from 7.95 (initially diagnosed at 79.5). PSA is gradually going down which i think may be a good sign . But in todays report ALT came at 102.8U/l and AST at 67.8 U/l . In last report 2 months back it was 27.3 and 23.8 respectively

It burns like hell when injected. So far the usual side effects like hotflashes, humor changes which might make my wife kill me one day (better than to die from PC), fatique which I ignore. Did 25 years

hair loss
I was wondering what others experience has been with hair loss during docetaxel. I completed my 10th round on May 2. After my first five treatments, I didn’t really lose any hair, and then the last five it got thinner, but I still had a decent amount. Now, over a month since my last treatment I seem

Good day to all fellow warriors, I used to post as Arnie1970, but that account stopped working. After the initial scare of a stage 4 cancer diagnosis, a lot has happened. Four grand children were born( two boys, two girls). I stopped working, and we traveled a lot. Even though I stopped writing.

How do I update my bio?
My bio on Health Unlocked website needs updating. How do I do that? I can't seem to update my bio from 2023. I'm interested in adding PSAs and testosterone quarterly blood tests from 2023 and 2024. My good new is that my PSA has been 0.01 "nearly undetectable" for more than a year. My MO said don't

T never recovered after ADT and 44 EBRT sessions.
I had gleason 7 /3+4. Completed ADT and EBRT (44 sessions) November of 2020. Undetectable psa up until 6 months ago. Then went to 0.1. I had been taking Androgel ( 2 pumps daily) my MO declared that I was " out of remission" and I then stopped the TRT. Since then, I've had two psa tests at 3 month intervals
