Hello - my husband has aggressive gleason 9 prostate cancer. He had a prostatectomy in August 2015 but his psa remained high, suggesting it had already left the prostate. He then had IMRT to his pelvic area and was started on Zoladex adt (3monthly injections). He became castrate resistant so abiraterone was added, although he still continues with the Zoladex injections. He now has several lymph node metastases in his pelvic and stomach area. His medical oncologist says that he can't have radiation on these. Is this because he had IMRT to his pelvic area, previously, shortly after his prostatectomy? His psa is 11.79 at the moment. Many thanks.

Yes, that is the reason he can't have any more pelvic radiation. And he can't have radiation in the stomach area, anyway. Spot radiation will be of no benefit, even if it were safe. Consider docetaxel.
Greetings H and D,
Please do us a favor and get off the wall for a few minutes and update your dear husband's bio. (e.g. age, location, treatment center(s), meds, doctor(s) name(s) and etc.). All info is voluntary but it will help him (you) and help us too. Thank you!
