I have had paf for approx 4 years. Main symptoms are a racing heart, tiredness (which may not be a symptom, could be the result of something else) and some breathlessness. I am on the list for an ablation. Nearly six weeks ago I had an arthroscopy on my right knee which has failed. I have had v bad pain in my leg as a result and am currently on morphine patches - not fully effective but better than nothing. Strangely my af has quietened down and apart from Christmas week, I have had few episodes of a racing heart - usually I have a couple a week. I only went on morphine last week so that cannot be responsible for having no racing heart episodes. I wonder if it is all the sitting around and little exercise (normally I walk quite a bit and attend various group activities) that have had this effect. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.
I am on the list for a new knee!

Depending how fast it’s racing - you’ve been in pain which can raise it and if anxious maybe get checked out if concerned about meds. Hope you improve soon x
Hi FlipperFunny thing is that my heart has not gone into AFIB for awhile now in spite of the pain from my knee. I was on codeine for 4 weeks - maybe that is a possible reason.... No red lines showing for over a week. Hope you are comfortable now. x
Hoping things stay on track for you 🙏. My heart rat me is now jumping up to 142 just getting out of the chair and doing 20 steps - CT scan & EP review Friday - staying calm 🧘♀️ x
That sounds so wearing. Hope you manage some sleep tonight. I am just off to bed to read and then hopefully sleep, thanks to the morphine. I hope the morphine is helping you too. x
