Arthroscopy, was it helpful?

About eight years ago, I had three fractures in my ankle, followed by two surgeries. Since then, I’ve been living with chronic pain. Recently, I was diagnosed with osteoporosis, along with very weak and torn ligaments. Now, even my other leg is becoming painful due to years of compensating and bearing the extra weight.

My orthopedic doctor has suggested an arthroscopy procedure to clean up the bones. Has anyone tried this? Was it helpful?

Additionally, do you have any suggestions for managing ligament and nerve issues in both legs? I’m feeling like I’m losing mobility day by day and struggling with increasing pain. Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I have end stage osteoarthritis in my right ankle and severe osteoarthritis in my left ankle. Pain has increased over the years. I was told I needed an ankle replacement at one point, but I declined because of my Osteoporosis.

I’ve managed for the past 3 years by using Nordic poles to walk with. They are a huge help!!! I walk my dog twice a day. I aim for a minimum of 5000 steps per day for the Osteoporosis, but if I go over 7000 steps per day, the osteoarthritis pain in my ankles becomes problematic.

The Nordic poles I use are made of carbon, consequently extremely lightweight.
