Worried
I read some posts on here regarding Polymyalgia and GC
Arteritis
. It’s got me worried. Is there a particular blood test that would show. Am I over worried. Though my gut instinct is telling me somethings going on. Thanks for any advice 😊

Not PMR
I have been told that I don't have PMR from my rheumatologist but rheumatoid arthritis so must I leave this invaluable site and find one more suitable for my ailment? If so I will be sorry to miss my family of helpers.

Hip pain
I have taken prednisone for6years and am now on 4mg. Recently I have been getting a lot of pain in hips so wonder if it's worth increasing my dosage to 5mg for a while. I also have osteoarthritis so it could be that. In the past I have had good advice from the forum can you help now thank you.

Hello and happy new year everyone!! Aching legs when I walk more then 50 yards (in a nutshell)!!
Hello All, It's been ages since I wrote a post. I have been relatively OK for a while and then went down hill middle of December with my annual COPD freakout chest infection - heavy duty antibiotics sorted that out but of course, as I have discovered, "old age don't come alone". I am 70 now and although

Arthritis in Lower back
Had an MRI due to unbearable pain in left leg. Symptoms very like sciatica except the pain is down the side of my leg into the foot. Well the results showed arthritis in the spine. I just want to know why I do not have pain in the back but in my leg. The consultation with the doctor was over the

Cramps
I have been having a few problems with my hands lately, stiffness etc which my GP originally put down to old age and arthritis, but just lately I have been getting cramp in my left hand which can be painful, do you think this could be due to arthritis or possibly something else?

Tocilizumab
I am advised that a biosimilar to tocilizumab has been approved in the UK and will be available at a more economical price , enabling NICE to allow NHS prescriptions for GCA after the initial 12 months. My GP and Consultant keen to get me off Pred altogether ( currently on second attempt in 3 years)

Colonoscopy
Just have a question. I was put on a 5 Day taper of 16mg of prednisolone. I took my first dose today along with a one time dose of diflucan. Will I be ok to have my colonoscopy tomorrow?

If not Temporal Arteritis, what could it be?
For the past two days I have experienced flashes of pain in my left temple area and a tender scalp. It improves with paracetamol taken at regular intervals but at certain angles my head really hurts, albeit briefly. I’m pretty sure it’s not GCA because there are no vision or jaw involvement, but what

Returning temporal headaches after stopping Tocilizumab, what to do ?
I will try to be brief. UK male aged 70 Diagnosed with GCA (ultra sound scan only) 2 years ago. Only minor symptoms experienced (mainly temporal headache). 65mg Prednisolone prescribed daily for 2 weeks, then to reduce by 5mg per month. A couple of "flares" (just headaches) in the following 12 months

Neutropenia whilst on Tocilizumab
Hi. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. Diagnosed with PMR and GCA Nov. 2021. For last 2 months I have been on weekly Tocilizumab injections; this followed a further flare up in December 2023 when the entire aorta was inflamed (I have never had cranial symptoms). I was certainly shocked

Hi all, at last I have plucked up courage to post on here..... Sorry it is a long one.Back in Aug '22 I suddenly started getting weak hands, swollen ankles and other achey symptoms. Qualifying for Tocilizumab
Hello, I have had a relapse of GCA and have been put on a reduction plan. Was on 40mg pred now reducing by 10mg every two weeks. I had an emergency ultrasound of temporal and axillary arteries but it was three weeks after going on 40mg of pred so my consultant radiologist did say that nothing would

Psoriatic Arthritis?
I've just seen my rheumatologist (who I like very much) and her feeling is that I have Psoriatic Arthritis and not PMR. The reasoning is that - even though I have no psoriasis on my skin - I had bad swelling and pain in my knees and hips when I first went to see her about 2 months ago. However, the
