Just be honest, explain how your illness affects your every day mobility, and how much help you need during the day and night, if you need help with cooking, cleaning, taking medication, can’t walk far , bathing , even to the fact can you eat by yourself, does your food need cutting up for you, sit and write a list, of every ailment and mobility issues you have, and then you will be armed ready to either fill out the form, or be assed over the phone.
I have been getting ready for tribunal, for 2nd time, as mine got stopped. I have found an excellent lady on YouTube, she has templates and explains each section very easily! I highly reccomend any one, if it’s tribunal, new claim, or review NEEDS to watch: Charlie Anderson 👍
hi I’ve had fibromyalgia om since 2015 it’s been on and off just basically progressed now my lowe back is beginning to be a big problem I can’t hardley walk far I’m going to claim for pip also one day
I’m considering getting some help. I can’t walk far and have to shop online. I dont drive now and have to rely on my daughter in law for appointments this is not always convenient as she currrently works. My pain is mostly in my back but seems to be getting worse. This has become a real issue now because my husband helped a lot but he died suddenly in October.
I would say it’s really good to get a local charity to help with your application - even if you review it for yourself afterwards and add more, they can photocopy and send for you. This way it demonstrates your need for support to dwp. It can feel humiliating but for me it helped a lot esp. with my guilt around am I ill enough/ deserving! Take care x
Hey Bailey13After me asking question after question, advice and opinions on here the lovely helpful wonderful people, who time after time replied to my queries, helped me with getting answers that I struggled to get from Dr's etc.
They helped me with understanding my health and help with the scary PIP claim.
So I have no doubt these lovely Guys n Gals will have all the advice you will need AND have no problem taking the time to write back AND some very lengthy replies too with some very personal details included.
They do it all to help us get what we so rightly deserve but can sometimes not know the way to approach it all to put up the best fight.
I have very recently been awarded PIP and just today received my letter as to what I shall be getting and why they have made this decision.
When you fill in the form just ,.as said before, be truthful how you cope from day to day & how, if you do things, it affects you.
Tell them in details and mention things that may seem insignificant to you but maybe what they need to hear. So the small stuff.
As someone said to me "nobody knows you better than you".
If you go over in your head what a typically bad day is for you, write it down word for word. What's your mental state while your doing things. How it makes you feel while doing and how it makes you feel after your done.
I went over and over my form (which you should photocopy by the way and you keep the copies..
A copy of everything you send including copies of Hospital, Dr's, Consultants etc but you send the copies to them NOT THE ORIGINALS
I did this to get the way I worded my answers correctly in my head, but to be honest for me and my telephone assessment it was a waste of time because I was just speaking from the heart and she must have got that over the phone.
She asked questions that were not always on the form. She asked me what kind of accommodation I lived in , if I had pets , what type of shower I had ie over the bath or cubicle... questions that don't need to be thought about.
So please don't worry about it all and just think about what a day is like in the life of Bailey13
I think they have contact details for help with this through this site also which people have commented on.
Massive luck to you and always pop on here for help along the way their here to help.
Hi there, ring Citizens Advice explain you are going to claim PIP and that you dont know how to fill in your form. Ask if they offer a help service. They do a lot with helping ppl claim PIP and know how to respond to the questions.Best Regards
