Update Hello all. Well today I had my first f2f with the consultant since diagnosis and you can probably tell from my title that I am not happy. In fact I am really, really, really p'd off. She was very pleasant and not at all dismissive but she didn't examine, said she agreed that if I have seen

Diet and autoimmune - What do you think?
I have been sent two websites that suggest a change in diet could help. I would be interested if you had seen these and to hear what you all think... https://www.amymyersmd.com/article/eat-organic-autoimmune/ https://www.everydayhealth.com/rheumatoid-arthritis/diet/insecticides-autoimmune-disease-what-women-should-know

The virus and injection medication for Rheumatoid Arthritis
Hi everyone, I have had RA for about 10 years. I am currently on Abatacept pre filled pens. I have heard that the injection medication for RA can provide some protection against Covid 19. Can anyone tell me if this is true ? June xxx

Onycholyosis and psoriatic arthritis
I went to my GP yesterday and she had never seen anything in her life like my nails. I suggested I had psoriatic arthritis as I stumbled upon similar photos as I searched google...yes I know....google and all that. Anyway I had onycholyosis last summer on 4 nails which grew out then about 3 weeks ago

It seems they were Tension headaches, not migraines or temporal
arteritis
or a bleed on the brain or anything sinister. And while hugely relieved I am also devastated to find that the stresses I have been dealing with could make me feel so unwell that I ended up in hospital.

OA?
Hi all 😘 My rheumatologist deals with my inflammatory arthris in my hands but despite meds (metoject) the pain in my feet and shoulders is unrelenting. My symptoms are persistent and worsening despite treatment. Is it advisable to ask my rheumy if it could be osteoarthritis as well as RA that I have

Pain relievers for osteoarthritis
Hello all, What do you use to relieve osteoarthritis pain. I’m having a lot of hip and sacral joint pain. Currently on 13 mg pred where I’ve been stuck for months. Tylenol barely does anything. Ibuprofen helps more but I don’t take it often because of the pred.

AN EXPLANATION OF PMR AND GCA - A why and how of steroids
GCA can be in many other arteries but the temporal
arteritis
bit is the common image we come across, apart from anything else the temporal artery is easy to get at and biopsy to see what they can find.

Interesting & informative conversation with rheumatology specialist nurse
I've just been prescribed hydroxychloroquine after my rheumatologist had a meeting with haematology and lymphoma teams over concerns about my blood count and pet/ct scan which revealed diffuse bone marrow infiltration, both of which have now been put down to high doses of steroids!!firstly they thought

Arthritis in the spine
Also using a hot water bottle really helps as it keeps the muscles and tendons warm which makes moving a lot easier

Covid jab
I’m due to have my covid 19 jab this week sometime and wanted to know from others how it affected them in anyway. I have diabetes arthritis for which I take methotrexate injections and epilepsy. But just in general how have those who have taken the jab been after?

Psoriasis?
I have an RA diagnosis and never had Psoriasis before. However, everytime I've had a particularly stressful time, I've had what looks like small patches of it. First, itchy spots which then become raised and sting/burn then dry up. It goes after a few weeks. I've mentioned it to my consultant at my last

Methotrexate
My Rhuemy says I have Rheumatoid Arthritis in my right knee. He has drained fluid from it 3 times. This fluid and pain started immediately, there was no pain until the fluid appeared, is that how rheumatoid arthritis starts? I do not like the side effects of Methotrexate, they look terrible. I am

Not Rhumatoid arthritis, not high calcium level but a hair line fracture!!
Hi all I had a phone call from my rheumatologist this morning. I was told just before Christmas that my hip pain might be due to rheumatoid arthritis, then got a letter to say that my calcium levels were high so I had to stop taking the calcium tablets. I had bloods done this week, and have spoken to
