Antihistamines

I have treated it with corticosteroid cream and antihistamines on the advice of my pharmacist but this had no effect. I apply suncream to the area also but has minimal impact. Has anyone else experienced this side effect and found a treatment for it. Thanks in advance.

Take antihistamines daily anyway so moisturised. Can’t identify a cause for contact dermatitis but hoovered pillow and changed pillowslip. Redness stayed all day. This morning redness slightly worse, starting to feel as if it is raised a bit and lumpy and is hot. Not itchy.

I'm hoping Annieapple had a successful day too today It's unlikely I'll walk any more today, I'm.a bit sleepy, that's the antihistamines 😄 so I'm going to see if I can sleep it off. No photos so one of a bush from the other day that I haven't a clue what it is. Happy challenging walkers 😁xx

I've also heard about adding antihistamines to your protocol. In north America they use clairitin, benedryl and pepcid. However I'm in Europe. Can anyone in Europe tell me what they tried when including an antihistamine protocol?

I've tried Nitol, spraying pillow with Lavender, taking antihistamines that make you drowsy, taking Magnesium ast thing at night, Paracetamol. Not using mobile or internet, milky drinks, taking a shower or bath before bed.

Antihistamines usually don't work. Recent trials have shown that bezafibrates can be effective for the itching. When taking bezabribrates there may be issues with renal (kidney) function. Donna's thoughts....

I have been taking antihistamines for weeks. I have tried other moisturiser without paraffin or petrochemical derivatives because I suspected I might be allergic. Whatever I try isn't working. Anyone experienced this? I don't have hay fever. We have two cats but I am fine when they are with me.

To say I was shocked was a total understatement as we were fully expecting it to have come back sky high given how badly I’ve been affected (and given how stronger antihistamines have helped!) Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Allergies and asthma but low IgE?

I have read that other antihistamines contain an ingredient that makes RLS worse. Any suggestions? I have arthritis in the toes on my right foot. I could not put weight on the foot for months until I took Naproxen 200mg twice. A miracle! No pain.

In my usual IVF hyper vigilance ways 🙄 I have since read that certain antihistamines can reduce sperm count and quality so I'm panicking. He only took a half and hasn't taken any before or since but have we undone all our good work? I hope replies to this post helps others too.

I have mentioned this to midwives and doctors - both NHS and private and all said no to antihistamines and didn’t provide any other options. 3 weeks later, I ended up in A&E last night struggling to breathe. They did all the could but despite nebuliser couldn’t get the airways to open up.

Could someone please advise an alternative to Fexofenadine as it has an effect on my Restless legs. Since stopping this drug my RLS has gone. I have spoken to my GP (UK) they said there is not and alternative to Fexofenadine that is 'non drowsy' on prescription. Thank you. Keith
