Hello. Sorry to hear about your problem in the sun during your holiday. I had a pacemaker fitted in February this year and my care team told me to cover the pacemaker site when in the sun for the first year after procedure. I am no means qualified to give advise on your rash but would recommend you see your GP for advise and treatment. Hope it all settles down for you soon.
Could it just be heat rash?I guess you've probably cut salt out of your diet, next time you want to be in the sun try having a bit of salt on your food.
it could be heat rash as Gundoglady suggests, this can hit out of the bue for no apparent reason - or it could be a side effects of exposure to sun while on certain medications, have you checked the info with any medications you are taking?
i suddenly develop it a few years ago but only when using sun bloc, so now i just wear hats, use a brolly and stay in the shade as much as possible
Thanks I did have a allergic reaction to the sun about 6 years ago it could be it has returned again or maybe I should have covered the pacemaker up as Classic100 said.
Still taking antihistamines and putting steriod cream on neck and chest but still very itchy
Antibiotics (doxycline for instance) can actually cause your skin to blister when exposed to sun. And reactions to any medication can occur quite suddenly...I would check the side effects of all.medication s you are on....oh and people can become allergic to plasters!
Thanks don't think its any of the meds I am on as I have checked. If it does not go this week after creams and antihistamines I will try for GP appointment
As Mumsastudent says, antibiotics can easily cause this sort of reaction. Some years ago I got a really painful rash/ skin reaction in south of Spain in February ( believe it or not) which was attributed to a course of Doxycycline which I had finished several weeks earlier. I have reddish hair/pale skin so keep fairly well covered up but some exposed bits of skin must just have caught the sun. Don’t think I’ve seen this warning on any antibiotics but it probably should be.
