Antihistamines

hi there, for anyone taking antihistamines for urticaria and.or angiodema, partic around eyes/face, which do you find work best - fexofenadine or cetirizine? And for those on high dose (up to four times a day, which I’ve been doing) have you found they start losing their effectiveness over time? Also, has anyone combined piriton (which i found in the past to be a powerful antihistamine) with cetirizine/fexo when flares have been particularly bad, just to whack it down? I’ve seen on NHS website that it says some GPs recommend cetirizine during day and piriton at night but I know that doctors don’t recommend long term use of piriton because of its side effects.

Hi! I have chronic urticaria, rather mild. I manage with half a tablet of cetirizine every other day at the moment because I'm using the strict minimum due to being pregnant. Before this I tried Fexofenadine for about a month (180mg per day preventatively and it worked really well for me. My case is much milder than yours however. I'm sorry as it's a very uncomfortable condition.
