Hi. Never been pregnant myself, but when this has been discussed on various forums people seem to recommend the Bumps website (best use of medicine in pregnancy) - worth googling.
Hi, very allergic person here. I regularly take antihistamines (fexofenadine 180 sometimes x2daily) but when I was pregnant I was told by my GP not to because they just didn't know if there would be side effects. With both my pregnancies I needed a course of prednisolone which was deemed safer. Both my kids were/are fine. (Now 12&8). This was a few years ago now so worth asking GP/asthma nurses for more up to date information too x
Thank you, I'm on double cetirizine and it works great on my asthma. I absolutely cannot risk ever taking prednisolone because it's shattered my adrenals really bad.
In that case it's definitely a good idea to seek further medical advice. Just fyi after my first child my asthma became very poor and took a long time to get under control. When it came to my second pregnancy I was referred by my midwife to a consultant gynecologist with who I regular check ups to keep an eye on my asthma/allergies.
I already spoke with a consultant. He just reads the script of how unknown many meds are in pregnancy. So no point really. I took claritin all way through my first pregnancy.
I'm on biologics for asthma but still need all my other meds.
