Palindromic rheumatism, rheumatoid athritis.
I'm a 20 year old female, my rheumy says I have palindromic rheumatism and we are just waiting for anything to show up on an X-ray, blood test etc. I have not had an X-ray or ultrasound done while the inflammation was present, my rheumy is convincing me to do so and will hopefully get results from that

I have no idea what's coming next!
I wrote a post a few weeks ago regarding the thoughts I had that my hydroxy chloroquine was no longer working - while seeing my consultant I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, which I presumed would be the end of the diagnoses for a whole, I was wrong, I was diagnosed about 4 year ago with APS after blood

Fasting before blood tests?
Hi, Just a quick question are you supposed to fast before b12 and folate blood tests? Also have many people tested negative for gastric parietal cells but positive for intrinsic factor? Thanks

She was diagnosed with autoimmune hypothyroidism a couple of years ago and has mostly been feeling well. However, in the last few months she has been feeling very tired, her hair has been falling

B12 jags stopped by GP
Hi folks, I've just had my b12 jags took off me by my doctor, she's new to the practice and says she tested my intrinsic factor and I should be absorbing b12 naturally off food, I was really low in the past and that's how my last GP put me on them, my folate is now 7 (2-20) and she says this is fine

Is this the right test?
I've been diagnosed with B12 (113) and folate (3.1) deficiency. I'm getting the loading injections at the moment. The doctor has given me a blood test form to get a "gastic parietal cell antibody" test. Is this the right test? I thought I should be getting the Anti intrinsic factor antibody test as that

Rheumatoid Factor?
Hello, I'm new here. Advice needed please. In 2003 I was tested for rheumatoid factor (RF) and it was 51. Saw Respiratory Consultant about my 'cough' and they 'briefly' mentioned 'hypersensitive lungs'. Got an inhaler but only needed it a very short period of time. No signs of rheumatoid arthritis

Lack of IF Your body also needs a type of protein called intrinsic factor (IF) to absorb vitamin B-12. IF is a protein produced by cells in the stomach. After you consume vitamin B-12, it travels to your stomach where it binds with IF. The two are then absorbed in the last part of your small intestine

21 year old's test results with no answers from doctors.
Hi everyone, I decided to join the society after my doctor initially said she felt I had pernicious anaemia but following my Intrinsic Factor Antibody test coming back Ok, she said it couldn't be PA. Test results that seem to be slightly off are: Serum Folate - 3.1 ug/L Serum Vitamin B12 - 144 ng/L MCV

Ferritin up and b12 up - translation of blood tests, please?
Please could someone advise as to what these iron tests show? My ferritin level has gone up. B12 level has gone up and as I do not take any b12 supplements ( my last 3-monthly injection was 31/5) how can my levels go up when it is now longer since my last dose?? Concentration is still a main problem

Parietal cell antibodies and ifa testing questions
I recently received the book "what you need to know about pernicious anemia and vitamin B12 deficiency". I have managed to read through chapter 4 which discusses problems in diagnosing pernicious anemia. I am confused. I am in the United States and therefore trying to determine which test to request
