Recurring miscarraige tests
Looking for a bit of advice, I've just had my second miscarraige from my second transfer. The clinic have said that they'll test for lupus anticoagulant in 6-12 weeks but they are not checking any hormone levels just now. I had hyperstimulation after retrieval then a cyst between miscarraiges so I'm

Worried about all the anticoagulants I am taking ...
I have recent diagnosis of ET and mylofibrosis. Had gangrene in 5 th toe at Christmas...long story. I have been on Apixaban since 2016 for very infrequent Atrial Fib( only had 2 episodes in 4 years) and wonder now whether ET set this off. I am now also on clopidergrel daily and Hydroxurea 1 gm/ alternating

Anyone taking NSAID's while on Blood Thinners
My orthopedist prescribed a one month course of daily Meloxicam (Mobic) for my shoulder pain. Mobid is an NSAID like Ibuprofen, Advil, Alleve, etc. Both my primary doctor and EP were concerned because I'm on the blood thinner, Xarelto. The pharmacist said the combination OK as long as long as it wasn't

Heart attack (Stemi) and unable to stent because of ectatic Coronary artery
So they did their best to clear it via the angioplasty and
anticoagulants
. The following day they tried again because I was still showing symptoms apparently, and managed to get sluggish blood flow through the artery. Turns out you can survive with a partly blocked coronary artery.

Update to my recent post re bleed behind eye
I dont think it is related to taking
anticoagulants
but next week I will contact my GP to discuss, hospital thinks it was wear and tear and age related. So relieved I decided to seek help from Moorfields, they were fantastic!

McMaster researcher explains why COVID-19 can cause blood clots.
“By discovering the mechanism, we can inform doctors on the use of blood-thinners, known as
anticoagulants
, that can stop the clotting in COVID-19 patients,” said Nazy, whose findings have been published in the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis. https://brighterworld.mcmaster.ca/articles/mcmaster-researcher-explains-why-covid

Post COVID jab DVT?
Hi, new to this. Question: anyone come across an occurrence of DVT after the first AZ COVID-19 jab. It happened to me about 10 days afterwards. Resulting in me being prescribed Rivaroxaban as the anticoagulant. Following my second jab about 10 weeks later I had problems with veins in my thigh. Ultrasound

Had a double bypass on 14 Dec 2020 and I get lots of bruises on my forearms. Spoke to my GP and he said it was from blood thinners which I need to stay on. Anyone else suffer from those. Very embarrassing in the summer. Thanks and keep well.

Thank you so much for the replies regarding this drug they have been so useful and I am very grateful thanks, my next question is anyone aware of an alternative to this drug which may have less serious side effects or is it possible to have a cv without meds other than blood thinners please? Thanks

Warfarin and alcohol
Hi all, Eighteen months ago my cardiologist suggested I stop drinking. My surgeon told me this was unnecessary. Out of an abundance of caution, I took my cardiologist's advice. Now nine months post-surgery and with the lockdown ending I'm kind of thinking a glass or two or, occasionally, three or four

Tooth Extraction
I have a broken tooth that needs extraction, problem is that I had a HA in Dec 20 and two stents in LAD. Now on blood thinners and beta blockers and statins for at least one year. Has anyone had had a tooth extracted whilst on these tablets?
