TIA/Bleed on brain

Hello everyone. Last Thursday morning I suddenly became very confused and one side of my face dropped considerably.

I have AF, HF and DCM, but have never had this experience before.

My daughter insisted that I go to hospital where, (and here memories differ), a consultant told me that, being on blood thinners, (sorry Bob, but that was the expression he used), was to prevent the formation of blood clots, but that this medication had the effect of making it easier for a small bleed into the brain. He took me off the thinners temporarily, I had a ct scan, and was discharged the next day, Friday, with arrangements made to have an MRI scan this week.

My daughter, who was present, insists that she heard TIA mentioned, which I didn’t, but I did hear him say that there was a little brain damage.

(I checked this site afterwards and read a couple of posts written on Thursday morning, by me under two names, which I dont remember writing!)

Be sure to update after the MRI. I think I'd be more inclined to trust your daughter's recollection (re TIA) more than yours, considering.

Thank-heavens she was there to insist you be seen immediately, she's definitely a keeper:)

Aw thanks HappyJo. You’ve just brought me to my senses when I was about to snap at two daughters who were telling me to slow down. 😉
