PMR AND BLOOD CLOTTING
I have had PMR since December 2020, put on steroids 5th January. I now have very high blood pressure (often over 200) and am also often tachycardic. Waiting to see a cardiologist. I do a voluntary antibody test for two universities which involves pricking my finger. Usually no problem with blood flow

New here, difficulty getting diagnosed - advice/similar experiences most welcome!
Hello, I am hoping someone may have had a similar experience to me and may have some advice... I am 48 and started experiencing palpitations in January of this year. When my partner feels my pulse, he will feel it miss a beat and at the same time I feel a judder/flutter in my chest. I don't experience

Why haven’t I been examined?
After my HA was finally confirmed in a retrospective ecg, I have been put on blood thinners and beta blockers which have slowed my heart rate alarmingly (it’s only 60 without them). I haven’t been seen by a cardiology department or investigated further , so am scared what has caused it and have been

Changing anticoagulants.
Has anyone else had bleeding problems when switching from warfarin to xarelto? My INR’s have been all over the map and my Dr. decided to put me on xarelto when my INR came down to 2.2. I stopped the warfarin and started taking 20mg of xarelto a day and after 2 doses I started seeing blood in my urine

Why anticoagulants for a month before the ablation ?
Hi all. I’ve had calls off the hospital asking me to start on abixapan before I have my ablation. I understand the abixapan helps reduce clot risk. But why for 4 weeks or so before and after ? Also I don’t have a date yet for the ablation it could. Be nov or December and don’t want to be in them for

Paul's update
The consultant said there's no need for me to go back on
anticoagulants
- wot ??? Of course there is and I did insist with my heart acting up like this. They took me off flec as they said this 'could' be the cause. Personally I would like to stay on it / take a beta blocker and anticoagulant.

Researchers find 10-minute add-on heart surgery cuts stroke risk by one-third
The randomized trial is expected to collect at least two years of data on non-vitamin K antagonist oral
anticoagulants
, or NOACs, such as the blockbuster drugs Eliquis, Xarelto and Pradaxa, among patients with atrial fibrillation.

How long does the effect of having a catheter ablation last?
always had in mind i would have it before 65.My question is however how long does the effect of having a catheter ablation last once the AF is under control following the proceedure. To date i have never really seen the necessity to go for the op if i can manage without it,however i am not keen on taking

Nosebleeds whilst on Clobidogrel
Yesterday I ended up in A & E with a nosebleed that took over an hour to stop. It seemed more like a haemorrhage to me, as there was blood all over my kitchen and bathroom sinks and floors, plus spots on my carpets. I tried to plug my nostrils with cotton wool, but it was saturated in a matter of moments
