On warfarin and test strips being cut
Just had my GP surgery on the phone, stating they need to save money and want to stop prescribing the Coaguchek test strips for my INR machine that I use at home myself. I wasn’t very happy as I’ve kept my INR in range in between pharmacy appointments over the last 7 years, by doing weekly tests -

Blood Thinners and CLL
I have MS and CLL, my Cardiologist suggested I be removed from blood thinners due to past PE's and DVT's. He said to talk to my Oncologist. Has anyone here had the same situation?

Avastin stopped due to blood clot, niraparib next
I went for my 4th avastin on Friday, but after waiting several hours had a surprise visit from my consultant, who told me my recent scan had picked up a blood clot in my left thigh/groin, so I couldn’t have treatment that day and it was being stopped altogether! I now have fragmin injections and an appt

White collar boxing Post heart op
Hi all, iv recently had my aortic valve replaced and a bypass of my right coronary artery. I'm in week 1 of recovery but am under no disillusion on how long recovery will take. I plan to return to boxing next year, would this be possible? I had a tissue valve so will not be on any blood thinners come

Experience on taking Amiodarone
Hi All, I am new here and hope everyone has managed to keep safe and well during Covid. I had a stroke December 2020. It was caused by AF that I didn’t know I had, no symptoms other than tiredness. Made a good recovery thanks to a clot busting injection given within 2 hours of stroke. Very grateful.

Interesting Article on Anticoagulants - Edoxaban - trial on low dose.
"Our study provides an important piece of the puzzle," Giugliano said. "At least now we can be informed, we can talk to our patients and say, 'I understand you didn't tolerate the standard dose…but another option is to give you a half dose of edoxaban. The good of it is your risk of bleeding is much

Refused surgery!!! Help!
Hello ladies, I haven't posted on here before but have been reading and following for sometime. It seems to be the only place to find advice, reassurance and positive stories as Google is the complete opposite. My Mum (73) was taken into A&E in June 2020 with heavy post menopausal bleeding; had ultrasound
