I had my double transfer a couple of days ago and taking inhixa for about a week. This is the third time taking inhixa and never had problems before with it before. The problem is my belly is covered with bruises. Any suggestions how to prevent or get rid of these bruises?
Any advice would be appreciated ?

I always get bruises from inhixa 😭I find that icing the site before for about 10 seconds, then holding the ice pack on it for about 30 seconds after helps with the bruising. Although it doesn’t stop it I’m afraid. Do you move your injection site around? I switch it up as much as possible to help it heal xx

I am not sure there is a magic fix sadly, whenever I am on blood thinners I am bruised all over. The only thing I have found to minimise the bruising is to inject really slowly x

rubbing arnica cream on the bruise might help it heal quicker

Ah I’m the same! At first I wasn’t bruising so bad but a week on them and I am. My husband injects them really slowly which is why I think I haven’t bruised too quickly as others said they have. He then blows on the injection site when he removes the needle … no idea if that helps but it takes away the sting! 😂

Helps the sting 😂 it then bleeds ever so slightly but it’s okay. Annoyingly I don’t think there’s any getting away from the bruising! Xx
I looked into this and I think it's to do with injecting into the capillaries, and sometimes there's a bit of bleeding. I have one side that's particularly bad for that so I try and avoid it, and the other side there's no pain it just goes right in. Also, press down on the site to stop bruising, not rubbing it, just press down for a few seconds like the doctor would do if you were getting say the vaccine x
I have tried to press down and not rub yesterday. Luckily the icing part of site helps with the pain. Thanks x
Hiya, in the same position as you. Tempted to upload a photo of my bruised and bloated belly but I will spare you. I've been doing everything "right" and it's still happening. Grrr! But I have noticed that when I inject on the thighs the bruises are tiny compared to the belly. The tips I was given were:
1. There is usually a painless spot on the skin. Try it. Move the needle about (within the area you've disinfected) and you should find a place where you don't feel the needle at all.
2. Do it in really good lighting so you can avoid the pale blue veins. Hitting those is what causes those masssssive bruises.
3. Ice pack immediately before and after but only for a few seconds. (This only for blood thinners. For some others like Lubion they need warmth so no ice pack)
4. Press down hard on the injection site. Don't rub, just press down for 30 seconds.
5. Inject slowly.
6. If you're quite skinny (this is not an issue for me 😅) and you have a small layer of fat, inject at a 45 degree angle.
7. From my own very personal experience, thighs are a bit more awkward but the bruises there are tiny tiny tiny in comparison so I'll stick with them.
Bear in mind that I have done all of this and I am still covered in bruises so you should def consult with a nurse or doctor but I thought I'd share what I was told.. Hope it gets easier. ❤
Thanks this is really useful. I have now started to get an itchy rash so that is worse than the bruises…….. might have to call the clinic tomorrow if it doesn’t go away soon. X
