Morning all! Thought I'd update on my Prednisolone journey...... Well, currently about to start day 3 of the treatment. Been asked to take 30mg for a week.....things have definitely improved for me. Pre the steroids on Monday morning, I think I had my worst day ever.....pure agony, arms like twigs,

Asprin to prevent dvt
I am having knee replacement next week...We must take blood thnners after to prevent dvt and possible PE.. I get it..Blood thinner of choice is now asprin...tolerated and less side effects.. I am supposed to take the regular dose of 325 mgs BID for a month..I know ASA is not as risky as the the other

knee - replacement advice
I ve had terrible left knee problems for six years and last year was diagnosed with OA in the left knee joint. The consultant at a trust in London advised there was nothing that could be done for me other than replacing the joint. But at 58 he felt I was too young and advised to go away; lose weight

No response to stims day 6 scan
Hi guys,After 5 days on Gonal F 300 and Femara, I've had my 1st scan and I am beside myself. There has been no response from either ovary. I have unexplained infertility and my AMH isn't bad for a 39 year old either. Doctor says to wait and re-evaluate in 3 days time. Dr Google, however, is telling me

cancelled cycle - period ten days early
Hi just wondered if anyone else has been in a similar situation following a cancelled cycle. I had Prostap to help with down regulation before transfer for 3 months (last injection June transfer July). Unfortunately it wasn’t successful. I have had normal periods since then (or what seemed normal

Frozen shoulder?
Since getting back from Cyprus where I saw a Rheumatologist but wasn't there long enough to get to the bottom of my symptoms, I've seen my GP who was appalled I'd been prescribed Pred (too young and no inflammation markers - actually I'm 56 and in Cyprus my ESR and CRP were considered raised though clearly

Experiences in East Kent?
Hi all,Has anyone had experience of being referred for IVF on the NHS in Kent? I'm wanting to get a bit of a picture in my head of time frames. We're under the subfertility clinic at the moment (EKHUFT) and have the next appointment in a few weeks following a bunch of tests - I expect we'll be referred

A rhesus negative - anti-D worries - can anyone help?
At my 16 week check up with the midwife I was told that I'm A Rhesus Negative which means i'll need to have anti-D injection at about 28 weeks. That all sounded fine and wasn't worried until I read up on it and been on some forums. This is my first pregnancy, however, I did have a miscarriage previously

First cycle & ovulation before egg collection!
Hello! This is my first post on here, and having just (almost) completed my first IVF cycle yesterday, I wanted to find out if anyone else has got to the day of extraction to be told they have already ovulated? I was taken into the room for extraction but told they wanted to scan me first as they had

Any thoughts on this method of pain relief for RA please?I've been offered this by the rheumy nurse and must admit to a bit of a shock when the email came through as I thought this drug had been withdrawn 50 years ago! My husband was on this for his asthma when I first met him back in 1973 until he was

anxious, miserable, scared of menopause, sick of waiting, dieting and thinking about it
Hi everyone hope you’re ok. I am 40 in 6 months time. I have one failed round of ivf behind me ( three eggs didn’t make it to blastocyst due to egg quality) that was in august. I had a horrible experience with the nhs after that after being told I wasn’t eligible for another cycle. I fought this

Any success stories after poor follicle response?
Hi everyone, I’ve never posted on here before but hoping someone can offer some positive stories or experience. I’m doing my first round of IVF as a single woman, 40 and low AMH of 3.8. Just had my day 8 scan and only have four follicles size 16, 14, 9 and 7. The doctors have said I’ll get 2-3 eggs max

AMH levels
Dear all, Just to check if anyone has had the same experience. I am 41 now. I measures my AMH last year October 2022 it turned out to be 0.91. I repeated it one year after October 2023 and the result was 0.43. I measured it today and the result was 1.16. Can there be such fluctuations?
