Hello, I'm 71 and had a fall about 8 weeks ago. I thought it was just a sprain but a blood clot developed in my leg and I was put on Apixaban. My foot, around the big toe area and bunion was sore and swollen and I had a lot of difficulty walking. After about a month I went to see my GP who took a look

Just some good news
Just wanted to update you all on this in case anyone is thinking of surgery to fix something non-cancer related. My husband was looking into getting a hip replacement back in 2021 when he was diagnosed with PC. So the hip replacement was put on hold,. But the hip arthritis kept getting worse and he

Periods after surgery
Hi ladies, I had surgery in September to remove chocolate cysts and endo tissue but for various reasons they didn’t remove all the endo. Before my surgery, my periods were regular – every for weeks. But afterwards the surgeon wanted to stop them to help with the endo and try to prevent future cysts

Anesthetist appointment
Hello all. I have a video call appointment with a consultant anesthetist next week. Does anyone have any tips with questions I should ask. Are these appointments usually over the phone? How long after a appointment with the anesthetist did people get booked for surgery or have surgery? I'm anxious I've

Another disappointing appointment with a consultant... MRI refused
I had my follow up appointment today after my laparoscopy last month where no endo was found but severe adhesions. The appointment today was to discuss the findings and further surgery. It wasn't even the guy I was supposed to see. My request for an MRI was flat out refused. And my adhesions once again

Hi All- a couple of weeks ago, I posted on here for the first time on behalf of my husband. Everyone was very reassuring and helpful. It turned out that my husband still had a 'collection' in his lower bowel which had become infected and the hospital put him on a course of antibiotics. He is now

Tumeric/circumin
Good morning to you all. I wonder if anyone can help with my query. I saw professor Harrison two weeks ago and among things discussed was joint and bone pain. I'm on hydroxy with one 75mg aspirin per day. She mentioned tumeric/circumin that some people find it very helpful and I asked if it was OK

For people who are about to have a bypass..
Where my health is concerned I was terrified of surgery . A neurotic coward . Laparoscopy - when do you know if it's worked? Will I have pain free days in my recovery? I'm 6 weeks after Op.
My story is quite long, so I will try to keep it brief. For 2 years I have had chronic pelvic pain after doing various tests that all came back clear I was offered a diagnostic laparoscopy. After 19 months of waiting I had the surgery 6 weeks ago. I woke up and after being told there was nothing wrong

long term carbimazole
I currently take 5mg Carbimazole alternate days. I have toxic nodules so stopping meds is not an option. Like many people on here I have been pushed towards RAI or surgery TT. Every time I feel I get near to a decision I learn something new! I am interested in what people have been told about staying

Tinnitus following an adverse reaction to medication- and only alcohol helps!
Hi! Tinnitus is now seriously damaging my sleep and my quality of life. It started about six months ago after an intensive course of Acetazolamide tablets (prescribed following a bad reaction to laser surgery intended to prevent glaucoma). Strangely the only thing that brings any relief is alcohol -

Spring Covid booster
Have had text from my surgery offering me a Spring Booster for Covid. Have been on 4.5mg Prednisolone for a couple of months now. Would my immune system still be classed as compromised on such a low dose?

What happens when CT scan and ultrasound can't verify if it's an ovarian mass or not?
I (post-menopausal 52 y/o) went in to urgent care about a month ago with stomach pains. Doctor thought it was a ruptured appendix, but sent me for a CT scan to verify. Turns out it was diverticulitis, but on the CT scan they noticed a a complex cyst on my left ovary, however they couldn't be sure if
