diverticulitis incontinence
Diverticulitis hot of nowhere. I fell down the stairs, was life flighted to UH main Campus, and had multiple Harkin’s procedures. Gutted thrice, like a catfish. I’ll be with ostomy for rest of my life. It’s been 40 days. Weak as a kitten I’m just in to rehab but still draining. They equipped me

Pain management
Dear Friends: I am currently taking 20mg Methadone daily for RLS and will have painful hand surgery soon. Because Methadone blunts effects of opioids I am concerned about pain management. Any ideas how best to handle? Thank you.

Update after hysterectomy for adenomyosis
I posted here just over a week ago with the background and my pre-operative anxieties: https://healthunlocked.com/endometriosis-uk/posts/150262788/adenomyosis-should-i-have-hysterectomy so I thought I'd update. My cancer journey-

Please help me understand advanced thyroid test results

update on my wrist pain.
I am 77 years old and I've had PMR for 6 years. I'm now at 2mg. prednisone. (up from .75....ah, I was so hopeful a year ago) and over the last 3 months have been waking up with terrible pain in hand and thumb and wrist. Primary doc sent me for an EMG which showed moderately severe (whatever that means

NHS Laparoscopy date question...
Hey guys, I don't know if any of you will be able to answer this as it is probably different with each hospital/area/specialist. But, basically I went to an endo specialist in Birmingham and paid private for a consultation and an MRI which confirmed endo and he referred me to Bham Women's Hospital for

feeling good
just an update that I am feeling really good after starting my lexapro. I feel a sense of contentment and gratitude even though I have some new challenges in my life. The dog I adopted from my friends dogs that passed away is having ACL surgery today. I’m hoping I’m up to the challenge of rehabilitation

Major surgery and a Vasovagal event
I’ve been taking 5mg pred for a while. Reduced to 4.5 and after a few weeks began to feel unwell. I told my doctor who said go back on to 5mg. I then went into hospital last week. I had gluteal reconstructive surgery. The anaesthetist suggested I should increase my pred. So I did the sick day rule and

Surgery Today!
I’m having spinal surgery today in my neck. So glad it’s finally happening but rather nervous too. I have cervical stenosis and myelopathy so I’m hoping this operation will stop the progression of spinal cord damage 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻. Has anyone else had this happen. Not sure if it’s RA related or not.

Small hernia
I have Stage 3 low grade ovarian cancer and had debulking surgery 18 months ago. I got over the surgery very quickly and have been very lucky with no recurrence so far. Yesterday I saw my Oncologist who said she had found a small hernia but I should carry on as normal but avoid heavy lifting. I’m

cataract surgery and prednisolone dose
This morning I had my eyes tested. This time last year I was told I had the beginnings of a cataract in my left eye, due to prednisolone. Today I was told that, thanks to prednisolone, the cataract is now ready for surgery. I said I didn't want it yet, because I am trying to get my prednisolone dose
